Role Description UNFPA is seeking Demographers to implement the Cohort Component Method (CCM) used to project the Afghanistan population. The Demographers will ensure that the population estimates and projections, and relevant demographic indicators are reliable, consistent, accurate, and statistically meaningful across geographic levels and resident populations’ sex and age groups. You would be responsible for: - Compile, clean, and harmonize fragmented various surveys, administrative, and system datasets. - Compile and triangulate migration data from UNHCR, IOM, and administrative sources to inform national-level migration scenario assumptions. - Conduct advanced modelling of age-specific fertility rates, mortality rates, and national migration assumptions. - Derive subnational demographic differentials from available survey and auxiliary data to calibrate provincial prorating shares. - Generate national, provincial, and district level projections using the Cohort Component Method and pro-rating techniques. - Apply the Cohort Component Method to generate annual national population estimates and projections by age and sex. - Derive provincial and district population estimates and projections through structured prorating of national CCM totals. - Perform age-sex accuracy assessments (joint score index) and diagnostics for age heaping. - Ensure consistency of the population data estimates across all geographic levels and administrative boundaries. - Conduct sensitivity analysis and internal demographic validations. - Build and validate various growth scenarios for population projections. - Produce technical reports, population pyramids, and metadata documentation. - Finalize the technical documentation and dissemination outputs. Qualifications - At least a master's degree in demography, statistics, economics, population studies, public health, or social sciences. - Minimum 3 years proven track record in demographic analysis, population estimation and projection, population modeling, census or survey data analysis, statistics, and handling fragmented survey data or related fields. - Experience with household surveys data analysis of household facilities, health and population themes. Requirements - Proficiency in Stata, R, PAS, Spectrum and required demographic analysis software packages. - Demonstrated proficiency in demographic analysis and population projection methodologies, particularly the Cohort Component Method (CCM). - Strong knowledge of fertility, mortality, migration, and population estimation techniques. - Experience in data cleaning, harmonization, triangulation, and management of large-scale survey and administrative datasets. - Ability to conduct demographic diagnostics, including age-sex accuracy assessment, age-heaping analysis, and consistency checks. - Deep understanding and familiarity with UN demographic methodologies, international statistical standards. Role Description The international expert will work with UNFPA RH NP A and national MOHMI specialists on adoption of treatment protocols including the following stages: - Assessment and revision phase - 10 working days - Desk review of existing local treatment protocol for breast cancer, identify gaps and provide recommendations. - Conduct 1 (one) online technical meeting to present evidence-based desk review results to national oncologists. - Support update of breast cancer protocol to align with WHO standards and international good practices. - Conduct 3 days online training with national specialists on the updated clinical protocol. - Methodology development - 5 working days - Develop a manual peer-review methodology for clinicians to assess adherence to protocols as a part of the quality assurance cycle, including clinical compliance indicators for national monitoring and internal audit. - Conduct a one day online workshop with national specialists on manual peer-review methodology and clinical compliance indicators. - Reporting phase - 3 working days - Develop a final consultancy report and set of related documents. Duration and Working Schedule - The Duration of this consultancy is 18 working days, from August 10th to November 30th 2026 including operational closure of the contract. Dates may vary due to availability of the expert and the national partners. Outcomes and Deliverables - Deliverable 1: Assessment Report, including a desk review of current protocols, a summary of technical recommendations from online meetings, and the first draft of updated clinical protocols for breast cancer aligned with WHO standards developed by August 30th. - Deliverable 2: 3-day online training conducted for national specialists on the updated clinical protocols by September 25th. - Deliverable 3: A complete package consisting of the set of Manual peer-review methodology clinical compliance indicators developed by October 20th. - Deliverable 4: One day online workshop for national partners on Manual peer-review methodology and clinical compliance indicators conducted by November 10th. - Deliverable 5: Final consultancy report developed by November 25th. Monitoring and Progress Control - The UNFPA Programme Analyst on Reproductive Health will monitor the International Consultant’s work through reviewing submitted materials. - The consultant will provide an update on a weekly basis on progress, challenges encountered, and support requirements. Ethical Considerations - UNFPA requires its consultants to adhere to ethical principles and standards when doing research. - The selected consultant should clearly identify any potential ethical issues and approaches, as well as the processes for ethical review in the inception report. National Ownership - The involvement of appropriate national partners will be a critical condition for the development of all the mission outcome materials in ensuring stakeholder ownership and its subsequent utilisation. Role Description The Recruitment Consultant will drive and coordinate end-to-end talent acquisition activities, primarily executing the recruitment and selection processes associated with the organizational restructuring of relevant Country Offices, while ensuring full compliance with UNFPA policies, procedures, and applicable Staff Regulations and Rules. Role Description Under the direct supervision of the Regional Programme Coordination Advisor, Arab States Regional Office, the Intern will provide crucial support to the Arab States regional team. National Consultant: Development of Standards and Guidelines for the Reproductive Health Reserved Force under the National Emergency Medical Team

Role Description The objective of this consultancy is to develop and institutionalize the standard competencies and guidelines for Reproductive Health Reserve Force (RH TCK) into the National Guidelines for Health Emergency Response (Pedoman Nasional Penanggulangan Krisis Kesehatan) to ensure rapid, competent deployment of RH TCK during health crises and disasters. The consultant will define the standard competencies requirements for the National RH reserved personnel (RH TCK) ensuring they are registered in the National TCK database and meet the following mandatory benchmarks: - Technical Competency: Minimum generic requirement, Completion of simulation-based training on the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for RH. - Certification: Valid certification from the MISP Online Training via Plataran Sehat / MOOC MOH. - Protection Standards: Demonstrated basic knowledge of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) to ensure the safety of vulnerable populations. Role Description The Public Health Consultant would provide the technical, epidemiological, health systems, and policy leadership needed to ensure that the investment case is evidence-based, context-specific, and aligned with national and global maternal and newborn health priorities. - Induction workshop: - Design and co-facilitate a national induction workshop. - Coordinate with Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (FMOH&SW), Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning (FMBEP), Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, and key stakeholders. - Establish a multi-sectoral Task Force and develop a roadmap for implementation. - Stakeholder Workshops: - Plan and co-facilitate 3–4 national and subnational workshops. - Support the investment case for midwifery, including inception workshop, coordination meetings, validation of draft results, and final dissemination event. - Situational Analysis: - Lead a thorough analysis of the national and subnational landscape for RMNCAH+N and midwifery in Nigeria. - Review maternal and neonatal mortality rates, primary causes of preventable deaths, health system characteristics, existing policies, and the current state of the midwifery workforce and model of care. - Define Midwifery Intervention Package: - Lead the definition and selection of a model package of midwifery care to accelerate reduction of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity. - Workforce Analysis and Strategy: - Estimate workforce requirements needed to deliver the modeled scale-up scenario. - Conduct a gap analysis of the current midwifery workforce supply, distribution, and skill mix against projected demand. - Develop evidence-based workforce development strategies. - Analyze Enabling Environment: - Assess contextual factors required for an enabling environment for midwifery in Nigeria. - Reporting: - Lead the drafting of the RMNCAEH+N and human resource for health sections of the reports and deliverables. Role Description The purpose of the International Consultancy is to undertake a situation analysis on existing case management response for married girls in 3 countries in Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Lao PDR, and the Philippines) and support the rollout of the 2025 guidance on design and implementation of response services for young and adolescent married girls in at least 3 countries across South and Southeast Asia.
