Role Description Under the general guidance and direction of the Deputy of the Civil Society Division, the Young Women and Girls Engagement Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and advice on outreach to adolescents’ constituencies, ensuring meaningful engagement of young women and girls in intergovernmental processes. - Provide substantive and strategic support to ensure young people’s engagement and leadership is mainstreamed in CSDs workplans. - Provide strategic guidance and advice on outreach to adolescents’ constituencies. - Support the technical implementation of young people’s programmes; provide technical advice; ensure synergies with other teams, develop knowledge products. - Contribute to strategies and support the integrated participation of young people in multistakeholder processes as well as intergovernmental processes. - Facilitate and support preparatory brainstorming and outreach meetings and activities with girl-led groups and constituencies. - Provide inputs into the implementation of the Civil Society Division Strategic Notes, UN Women Strategic Plan, resource mobilization proposals to ensure adolescents' agendas are reflected. - Support the strengthening of networks and knowledge sharing among young people to facilitate and increase communication between the constituencies. - Support and contribute to the development of briefing and background notes across the Civil Society Division. - Support and contribute to the development of the youth and adolescent safeguarding policy. Partnership and Resource Mobilization: - Support the advocacy and resource mobilization for youth and adolescent work by compiling and synthesizing relevant background material. - Analyze and maintain information/databases on potential and actual donors, specifically those active in supporting youth and adolescents. - Provide data and information needed for preparation of project documents. - Support the writing of proposals for the Civil Society Division. Role Description The Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes is seeking an AI Innovation and Mediation Intern with a technology-focused academic background and a strong interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to support the Mediation Unit’s technology and AI-enabled initiatives. - Support the development of AI tools for mediation practice: - Contribute to the research, prototyping, and testing of AI-supported tools for mediation. - Help design and automate workflows, templates, and case management processes. - Structure and analyze mediation data. - Assist in the development of UN reporting tools. - Explore decision support concepts such as “AI judge” prototypes. - Help integrate generative AI into training materials and mediation support functions. - Deliverables may include using UN-authorized AI tools such as Copilot and Gemini: - Creating AI systems and workstreams to make mediation work more efficiently. - Prepare a list of AI resources that could be useful for mediation work. - Develop AI chatbots to guide the Ombudsman Office regarding resources of the organizations it serves. - Create AI Judge dedicated spaces based on UNDT and UNAT cases on specific topics of concern. - Create automations for case management. - Develop case data snippets. - Suggest any other AI application tools for mediation and ombuds practice. - Support the mediation unit’s training and project activities: - Involved in the preparation of the mediation unit’s training materials, projects, and coordination of various events. - Create AI-efficient training mechanisms and tools. - Explore and suggest AI tools useful for mediation and ombuds training. - Other administrative and substantive support as required. The consultant will assist these companies in testing and implementing the EPRR instrument within their organizations and will update the instrument based on their feedback and recommendations. Qualifications - Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender/Women’s studies, or a related field is required. - A first-level university degree in combination with seven (7) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
