• Help establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of HALO’s freight and logistics function in partnership with Operations leadership • Lead and own the end-to-end execution of domestic and international freight operations, ensuring shipments are planned, routed, and delivered in alignment with business and client needs • Manage carrier, broker, and third-party logistics relationships to secure reliable service, scalable capacity, and competitive freight solutions • Optimize, manage, and oversee freight processes, including shipment coordination, transport charges, customs and duties, tracking, and delivery follow-through • Partner with Billing, Finance, Product and Technology, and Commercial teams to improve freight pricing transparency and reduce downstream billing surprises • Define, refine, and communicate freight best practices and documentation standards to improve order accuracy, invoicing quality, and customer experience • Measure team productivity and success through objective key performance indicators tied to service, cost, accuracy, and timeliness • Supervise workflow and performance of the freight and logistics team, both direct reports and indirect reports, providing coaching, feedback, and development support • Leverage data and feedback from internal and external stakeholders to continuously innovate and improve freight operations • Stay up to date with industry trends, carrier markets, and best practices in transportation, logistics, and distribution • Serve as the escalation leader for complex freight issues, service failures, and cross-functional resolution needs
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, operations, or a related field required
- 8+ years of progressive experience in freight, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or distribution operations
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional operational processes
- Experience with domestic and international shipping, including customs and duties coordination
- Strong working knowledge of carrier management, freight billing concepts, shipment execution, and process improvement
- Experience or knowledge of how a distribution company works is highly desirable.
