We boldly go. Where is the work: On-Site (5 days) Trane Technologies is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager in York, Pennsylvania. Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) - focused business partner in providing strategic consultation and leadership in the development and implementation of comprehensive EHSS management systems. This position must implement effective training initiatives, provide targeted risk analysis, and audit programs to measure efficiency. This position provides proactive leadership to all regional Trane employees, manages environmental health, safety and security activities, programs and incident prevention activities, and ensures compliance with Trane, local, state, provincial and national requirements. The position establishes and promotes a strong safety culture and a healthy work environment. What you will do: Inspire employee action affecting the leading indicators, including employee involvement and management commitment. Participate as an active member of the RES/TK EHS Leadership Team, supporting the regional operations success. Position is accountable to the Klinge Operations Leader with support to the RES/TK EHS Business Leader. Provide support for other Company teams as needed and directed, including North America and Enterprise EHS support. Proactively lead and coordinate environmental health, safety and security process efforts for the region based out of the York, PA manufacturing site, as well as but not limited to CSTK Philadelphia/Bethlehem/Scranton locations as directed by the RES/TK EHS Business Leader. Coordinated temporary support of additional TK locations may also be required. Develop, implement and measure the success of safety programs, strategies, policies, training, and procedures in alignment with Corporate and Business Unit expectations. Ensures accountability and interactions between stakeholders and leadership. Uses established EHS data processes to lead incident and illness management and report incidents, injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information. Analyze data to lead and coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement. Visit fixed facilities, job sites and dispersed workforce, on a regular basis to ensure effective implementation of EHS processes and programs. Identify existing or potential risks and hazards. Ensure the recommended corrective or preventative measures are completed in a timely manner. Oversee workers' compensation program administration including working with all parties to aggressively manage and support transitional duty and return to work programs. Drive incident and near miss reporting. Perform/coordinate root cause analysis of incidents and injuries to determine specific actions needed to prevent their reoccurrence, with inclusion of operations subject matter experts, business leadership, business and enterprise EHS. Facilitate EHS training and orientation as needed. Identify EHS related training requirements for associates and support processes to ensure training effectiveness and compliance. Ensure all EHS related records are accurately maintained/organized and in compliance with Trane, local, state, provincial and national requirements or any other regulatory agency rules and regulations. Ensure contractors and subcontractors have implemented an effective safety process, have appropriate training and sufficient insurance by conducting pre-qualifications and by visiting/auditing job sites on a regular basis. Participate on business teams as needed to assist in the development of safety policies and procedures, projects, campaigns, committees, as well as corporate compliance audits. Provide information, metrics and programs to customers for customer required contractor qualifications. Coach/mentor all employees, including leadership, on safe work practices, hazard identification and risk management. Direct risk assessments and recommend control measures for all potential areas of concern. Prepare and submit all required technical EHS regulatory reports. Lead process of reviewing and approving safety data sheets, and new chemical request process. Active key member of site and regional leadership teams to drive EHS culture, ensure inclusion in decision making for key process changes and organizational planning and facilitate thorough Management of Change evaluations. Organize and lead teams/committees to identify and implement safety improvements, waste reductions and resource conservation. Oversee and confirm effectiveness of facility emergency response teams to ensure appropriate training in emergency response, spill response, disaster preparedness and crisis management. Ensure drills and equipment are in a ready state and effective communication of responsibilities to personnel. Guide, counsel, advise and communicate with all levels of leadership on EHS and wellness matters within the region. Provide critical oversight and training during integration process including but not limited to: EHSS Program and Policy implementation, Trane BOS implementation, implementation and training on frequently used EHSS Tools including Gensuite Benchmark, Velocity SDS & Ergo tools, etc. Support other RES/TK operations as needed and directed. Up to 50% travel required, with approximately 30% overnight stays. Travel is required to fixed manufacturing sites, sales/service office locations and other customer work sites. What you will bring: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or Safety Sciences/Engineering, or related field preferred. One or more safety-related professional certification is desired (i.e. CSP, CIH, CHSM). A minimum of 5+ years of practical environmental health and safety management experience with a combination of manufacturing site and multi-location service related business is preferred (desired 10+ years). Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT. Experience in the interpretation of federal, state, local, environmental and safety standards. Experience in fast paced, changing/growing organization. Excellent time management skills and computer experience in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and EHS data management system (i.e. Gensuite). Strong ability to lead, motivate, engage and influence others. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal in English. Bi-lingual is an asset. Demonstrated ability to take innovative approaches to improve processes and solve problems. Demonstrated ability to adapt well to face-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy. Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, and ability to work in a team environment. Must be a self-starter with experience leading the safety management function. Comfortable working with field technicians as well as communicating with leaders at all levels in the organization. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple sites/remotely as well as a dispersed workforce.
