Senior Frontend Developer

AlayaCare

Role Description As a Senior Frontend Developer (Vue), you will play a key role in building the products that power better residential aged care in Australia, helping providers deliver safer, more connected care. You will join our Platform Engineering team and work closely with colleagues in Canada and Australia, partnering with Clinical, Finance, and Reporting teams to deliver high‑quality, accessible experiences in our AlayaCare Residential product. You will focus on migrating our Resi platform from AngularJS to Vue 3, improving performance, accessibility, and maintainability while contributing to shared component libraries and automated testing. You will work in a modern, AI‑first development environment with a contemporary frontend stack and a cloud‑native backend. If you are excited by solving complex UI challenges in a regulated, mission‑driven space, this role is for you. Our frontend stack is Vue 3 (3.5), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Vite, Pinia, PrimeVue, and Cypress, integrating with a backend built on C#, .NET, and MSSQL Server. We run Docker and Kubernetes on AWS, with Git and Azure DevOps in our pipeline, and use Jasper Report and DataDog for reporting and monitoring. This is a fully remote 12 month full-time contract position. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant focus on modern frontend development. - Proven experience building production single‑page applications in Vue, ideally Vue 3, using TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+). - Demonstrated success migrating or modernizing large frontends, ideally from AngularJS to Vue or React, in a mixed legacy and greenfield codebase. - Strong understanding of component architecture, reactive patterns, and state management with tools such as Pinia or Vuex. - Hands‑on experience with modern build tooling like Vite or Webpack and with CSS or SCSS for responsive, accessible interfaces. - Experience using component and end‑to‑end testing frameworks such as Cypress to safeguard quality. - Ability to make sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations, communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical partners, and collaborate across time zones. - Curiosity to learn new technologies, keep up with industry trends, and use AI coding assistants or similar tools to accelerate high‑quality delivery. Requirements - Lead the migration of existing AngularJS pages and components to Vue, preserving functionality while elevating the user experience. - Diagnose and resolve UI and UX discrepancies that arise during migration to ensure a consistent, intuitive product experience. - Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions, championing best practices and frontend innovation across the team. - Implement and maintain component and end‑to‑end automated tests with Cypress to secure quality and regression coverage. - Optimize frontend performance, including bundle size and rendering, and uphold WCAG accessibility standards across the product. - Monitor your code in production, investigate issues raised by clients, and ship fixes that improve stability and customer trust. Benefits - Competitive remuneration for this role, adhering to British Columbia's pay transparency laws. - Fully remote work environment. - Opportunity to grow your impact, skills, and career.
