Role Description We’re seeking a Pre‑Sales Engineer who combines deep technical curiosity with consultative sales expertise to drive success within DocuWare’s partner ecosystem. This role plays a critical part in supporting sales efforts by providing solution insights throughout the sales cycle. You’ll collaborate closely with our Authorized DocuWare Partners (ADPs) and internal teams to design, demonstrate, and position high‑value solutions that leverage DocuWare’s Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and AI‑based automation capabilities. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll bridge business needs with technical possibilities—helping partners and customers harness intelligent automation, document understanding, and process optimization. You’ll also shape product innovation by collaborating with Product Management to communicate market feedback, feature requests, and business cases that expand DocuWare’s solution capabilities across the IDP and AI landscape. The territory for this role is nationwide; however, residence in Eastern Standard Time or Central Time is preferred. Responsibilities: - Partner with Sales and Channel teams to support ADPs in technical pre‑sales activities, including discovery, demo configuration, solution design, and proposal development. - Conduct tailored software demonstrations and workshops showcasing the power of DocuWare’s AI‑enhanced and IDP capabilities, connecting use cases directly to customer workflow challenges. - Collaborate with sales representatives and professional services teams to translate business requirements into technical architectures aligned with digital transformation goals. - Assist Professional Services in scoping and quoting implementation projects, ensuring proposed solutions are feasible and value‑aligned. - Deliver technical enablement sessions and training workshops for ADPs—developing them into DocuWare IDP experts who can independently position and demonstrate the platform. - Lead technical discovery, qualification, and needs assessments; support RFP/RFI responses, integrations, and custom configuration scoping. - Prepare and manage proof‑of‑concept (POC) and pilot environments to validate proposed solutions, including testing advanced document AI features. - Partner with Product Management to relay market insight, build business cases for new AI/IDP functionality, and support communication of customer and partner feature requests. - Maintain and document pre‑sales activities in CRM systems, including configurations, technical objections, and engagement outcomes. - Continuously expand technical knowledge of DocuWare’s solution portfolio, IDP stack, AI integrations, and complementary technologies to deliver best‑in‑class consultation. Qualifications - Ability to travel three weeks a year outside territory - DoucWorld (locations vary), Beacon NY and within wider territory for team building event. - Ability to travel occasionally to channel partners (less than 50% of time would be spent in travel). - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 3+ years of experience in pre‑sales engineering, solution consulting, or technical sales support. - Strong understanding of SaaS, cloud architecture, document management, or workflow automation technologies. - Excellent communication skills—able to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences. - Demonstrated success conducting product demos and proof‑of‑concepts. - CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with sales enablement processes. - Ability to travel occasionally for partner workshops, industry events, or customer visits.
