Job Description

Accounts Receivable Coordinator – Lead

CPG

• Monitor and resolve outstanding or pending insurance claims and account balances. • Conduct timely follow-ups with payers via phone, fax, email, and payer websites. • Investigate and resolve claim rejections using systems such as Realmed and Availity. • Research credit balances and escalate to the Refunds Department when appropriate. • Maintain and update payer guidelines, ensuring internal teams are informed of changes. • Assist Patient Services with statement requests, itemized bills, and account research. • Support onboarding and continued development of the AR team through training, mentoring, and skill-building. • Distribute workload, monitor task completion, and ensure departmental efficiency. • Prepare and submit detailed billing documentation for escalations and payer appeals. • Partner cross-departmentally on projects, bringing AR expertise to organizational initiatives. • Communicate issues, trends, and process improvement opportunities to AR leadership.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in medical insurance coordination/collections (required).
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience in AR or a similar role (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of insurance payers, EOBs, Medicare/Medicaid, and medical terminology (pathology focus).
  • Experience with CPT4, ICD10, HCPCS coding.
  • Familiarity with HCFA 1500 and UB-04 billing processes.
  • NextGen Practice Management, Availity, or Realmed experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and communication ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Represent Salma Health in the field through in-person meetings, events, and educational sessions to deepen relationships and increase brand awareness. Lead the development and execution of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to formalize partnerships and ensure alignment on referral workflows and communication standards. Collaborate with marketing and operations to localize messaging, co-host provider events, and support market-level growth initiatives. Analyze referral data to identify high-performing channels and optimize partnership strategies. Track outreach activity, referral volume, and partner engagement in CRM systems. Build and maintain dashboards to monitor performance metrics, provider satisfaction, and referral trends.
