Job Description

QA Lead

Inflection.io

• Own and evolve scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and/or Cypress across UI, API, regression, and end-to-end flows • Define and drive test strategy in collaboration with product and engineering — including shift-left practices integrated at design and PR stage • Mentor and manage QA contractors and full-timers; run code reviews, guide framework decisions, and unblock the team day-to-day • Build and maintain CI/CD-integrated pipelines for continuous test execution and release gating • Champion AI-assisted testing tools to improve test generation, failure analysis, and coverage identification • Establish quality benchmarks, define go/no-go criteria, and own release readiness for high-impact launches • Perform exploratory and risk-based testing on critical features — not just automation upkeep • Identify flaky tests, coverage gaps, and technical debt in the test suite and drive resolution

Job Requirements

  • 8–12 years in QA/SDET roles, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Strong hands-on Playwright and/or Cypress experience; comfort with JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch — including POM, BDD, and data-driven patterns
  • Strong expertise in building and maintaining cross-service integration test frameworks for microservice-based systems.
  • Proven ability to ensure reliability of inter-service communication, event-driven workflows, and production-critical business flows.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test planning, test strategy creation, test case generation, and quality engineering workflows.
  • Experience testing cloud-native applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Ability to effectively combine AI-generated insights with engineering judgment to design comprehensive test coverage for complex distributed systems.
  • Solid API testing skills (REST; gRPC a bonus) and experience with tools like Postman or RestAssured
  • Proven track record mentoring engineers and working with contractors or distributed teams
  • Experience in a SaaS or startup — comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and lean teams
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and Git-based workflows
  • Strong communication skills — you can write a test plan or explain a quality risk to a non-technical stakeholder equally well.

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) matching
  • Flexible working hours
  • Paid time off
  • Remote work options
