Role Description We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Administrator to join our team on a fixed-term basis, providing maternity cover for a member of our team for a period of around 6 months. You will be responsible for the continued smooth operation and development of our Salesforce platform and its integrations, working closely with business users, the Product Manager, and the wider Engineering team. This is a hands-on role that requires deep Salesforce platform expertise and a strong understanding of how the platform supports our business processes. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable configuring Flows and troubleshooting Apex as they are engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure that solutions are well thought through before they are built. Key Responsibilities - Solution Architecture: - Manage, maintain and develop our Salesforce platform and its integrations. - Participate actively in all phases of product development: ideation, analysis, discovery, refinement, implementation, testing, and monitoring. - Maintain existing system processes and continually improve and update documentation in Confluence. - Work with business users to analyse their requirements, then design, build, implement, and document solutions in a maintainable and scalable manner - applying Salesforce best practice and choosing declarative solutions wherever possible. - Work with any outsourced Salesforce implementation partners (consultants) as may be engaged from time to time. - Ensure that solutions implemented by the team are technically sound and robust. - Partner with the Product Manager early in the process of assessing new initiatives to identify bigger-picture considerations, potential technical blockers, and to provide level-of-effort estimates that support prioritisation. - Declarative Customisation: - Manage user lifecycle - joiners, movers, leavers - along with day-to-day issues and support requests. - Continually review platform security: monitor user permissions, data sharing settings and best practice across all related areas. - Build solutions and resolve support requests that address user problems in an effective and efficient way. - Programmatic Customisation: - Implement new integrations and support existing ones across the technology estate. - Partner with other teams to tackle technical challenges that cut across the whole of Engineering. - Review current Apex logic, identify areas for improvement, and create and execute an improvement plan. Qualifications - A minimum of 8 years' Salesforce Administration experience. - Salesforce certifications required: Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Platform Developer I, and Platform App Builder. - Broad knowledge of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud with strong foundational Salesforce skills. - Proven ability to create, maintain and troubleshoot Flows. - Ability to read, troubleshoot and review Apex code. - A clear understanding of best practice and the judgement to insist on proper requirements and full analysis of business problems - avoiding quick fixes that build technical debt. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an easily understandable manner to audiences at all levels of the organisation. - Self-motivated and creative, with a can-do, hands-on attitude and a track record of taking ownership and driving for results. - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; a natural team player. Requirements - Experience with FinancialForce / Certinia. - Additional Salesforce certifications: Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Platform Developer II, or any Architect-level certifications. - Working knowledge of any of the following integrations: SalesLoft, ZoomInfo, Adobe, HubSpot, 8x8 (or other CTI), Sales Navigator, Outlook, OwnBackup, 6Sense, Certinia, Gainsight. What We're Looking For - Naturally collaborative and approachable - someone people want to work with and confide their real pain points to. - Curious about the bigger picture - not just how to configure a solution, but why the business needs it, what process it supports, and whether the current approach is the right one. - Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels to draw out requirements, challenge assumptions, and ensure the real business problem is understood before jumping to a solution. - Able to think across systems - understanding how Salesforce relates to the tools and integrations around it, where data flows well, and where there are gaps or risks. - Self-starting and proactive - able to identify what needs doing and get on with it without waiting to be asked. - Resilient and adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and able to manage competing priorities. - Able to convey complex technical information in an easily understandable manner, and to document processes and decisions clearly. What Exceptional Candidates Often Look Like - Instinctively ask "why" before "how" - they want to understand the business problem before reaching for the technical solution. - Have a habit of mapping out how things connect - they naturally think about integrations, data flows and dependencies, not just the Salesforce configuration in isolation. - Know when to push back - they can diplomatically insist on clear requirements and proper analysis, even when there is pressure to deliver a quick fix. - Leave things better than they found them - they spot opportunities to simplify, consolidate or improve, and they document what they do so others can follow. - Are as comfortable in a stakeholder conversation as they are in a Flow builder or reviewing Apex. Our Culture - Respect Each Other: We believe that a foundation of mutual respect is essential to creating a positive and inclusive environment. - Customer-Driven: We are passionate about delivering exceptional value to our customers. By listening to their needs, understanding their challenges, and continuously adapting our solutions, we aim to empower them to achieve their sustainability goals and drive positive change in their supply chains. - Thinking Creatively: Innovation is at the heart of our work. We encourage creative problem-solving and embrace new ideas that challenge the status quo. This mindset allows us to continuously improve our products and services, offering fresh and effective solutions to complex sustainability and ethical sourcing issues. - Take Ownership: We empower our team members to take responsibility for their actions and outcomes. Every person at Sedex is encouraged to own their work, make decisions with confidence, and contribute proactively to the success of the team and the business. - Deliver Results: We are results-oriented and committed to delivering tangible, impactful outcomes for our customers, our business, and society at large.
