BD
• Provide leadership over North America Record-to-Report (RTR) activities, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP and BD accounting policies • Oversee regional close execution, including general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and issue resolution • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes • Provide active oversight to insourced/outsourced GPO functions to ensure execution aligns with expectations • Drive high-quality financial data and insights to support regional leadership and enterprise decision-making • Serve as a key regional leader in statutory reporting compliance (e.g., sales & use tax, escheatment filings), audit coordination, and issue resolution • Lead enterprise consolidation activities, including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and consolidated reporting • Support governance of the global close calendar, submission standards, and review protocols • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the consolidated balance sheet and financial statements • Partner with regional and corporate teams to align U.S. GAAP and local GAAP reporting requirements • Lead initiatives to standardize and optimize accounting processes across North America and consolidation activities • Identify and implement automation and analytics opportunities across close and reporting processes • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, including root-cause analysis and process redesign • Support enterprise transformation programs, including system enhancements and operating model evolution • Serve as a key North American liaison with the Business and Corporate functions to establish two-way communication that is fluid and timely to create a collaborative environment to ensure transactions are captured completely and accurately within the financial statements • Partner with the business to provide meaningful insights into actual financial performance and advise on impacts of nonstandard business activities • Represent North America and consolidation priorities in global governance forums • Drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders to ensure end-to-end finance coordination • Lead and develop a high-performing team of accounting professionals across North America and corporate consolidation teams • Foster a strong controllership culture emphasizing accountability, integrity, and technical rigor • Support talent strategy, succession planning, and capability development across the accounting function • Lead through change with strong communication, engagement, and talent retention strategies.
Job Requirements
- B.S. in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred
- CPA or significant technical accounting experience required
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience including public accounting and leadership roles within a Controllership organization
- Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, consolidations, and global close operations
- Proven ability to lead large, global teams and drive consistency across decentralized environments
- Demonstrated change leadership and transformation experience
- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
- Experience governing shared services and/or BPO delivered accounting operations (service management, SLAs/KPIs, and escalation models) a plus
- Strong executive presence, judgment, and communication skills.
