Engineering Manager

Role Description Lyra is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a small and nimble engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented problem-solver with a track record of successful leadership. This role sits at the forefront of a new vertical for Lyra: serving health plans and health systems. You'll also work closely with our Bend Health platform, which extends Lyra's care to children, teens, and families — including new complex care offerings. - Be a hands-on technical leader, guiding a small and nimble engineering team in designing, developing, and deploying core product functionality. - Manage, scale and develop the team. - Collaborate with key partners including product, data and behavioral health specialists. - Ensure that best practices are adhered to during all phases of software development and deployment. - Ensure adherence to the highest quality and security standards. Qualifications - 7+ years overall experience including 2+ years management experience. - Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in CS, or a related technical field. - Experience developing enterprise or consumer web applications. - Excellent communication skills across a diverse range of audiences. - Demonstrated project management skills. - Strong bias to action. - Passionate about Lyra’s mission and transforming mental health. Requirements - Familiarity with AI tools and technologies — particularly agentic development and LLMs — and experience applying them to healthcare, personalization, or workflow automation. - Prior startup experience. As a Junior Engineer in the Server team, you will be working in a small agile team, delivering new features and services for our Live Service infrastructure. You’ll work closely with the game teams, helping to support the titles that FuturLab creates and maintains. Your work will primarily involve writing backend services in .NET which that are deployed in the cloud, but you will also work with the team to monitor existing production services using services like Grafana. Additionally, you will get exposure to managing our cloud stack using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. We work with 3rd party products and solutions to manage authentication, analytics, and help support game features like multiplayer. As such, you will also gain exposure to these areas of game development too. The specific responsibilities of your role will include, but are not limited to: - Developing new features and fixing bugs in existing backend services. - Creating brand new services to support feature requirements from our game client teams. - Designing and implementing database schemas. - Monitoring existing services in production. - Adding tests to our existing suite of Unit, Integration and Load Tests. - Providing web development support to the studio - Creating and maintaining documentation for our service on our internal wiki.
