Field Support Engineer – III
Transaction Network Services (TNS)
• Support, performance, integration, and provide knowledgeable input on proposed designs within TNS POP’s and Datacenters. • Provide SME type support in one or multiple areas. • Manage multiple assignments and problems in an environment of continually changing priorities. • Travel to remote sites for periodic or emergency maintenance, customer support, equipment installation, de-installation, software upgrades, troubleshooting/repair. • Provide and sustain a good working relationship and rapport with customers, regional partners, and internal TNS customers.
Job Requirements
- Expert to Distinguished level of support as defined by a TNS Field Services Technician V.
- Has broad application of commonly used network troubleshooting, installation, and testing concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrates experience in working on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.
- Technical degree in electronics or computer technology required.

• Provide direct support to a Northrop Grumman Maritime Targeting Cell (MTC) prototype system • Be the system subject matter expert, providing training on the system hardware and software • Support the Marines in the unit with system operations, employment, and routine maintenance • Execute hardware preventative maintenance, write procedures, perform Break/Fix, touch maintenance • Meet the requirements of DoD 8570.1-M at the IAT II or IAT III Level • Create discrepancy reports (DR’s) and provide weekly status reports to factory in Aurora, CO
• Provide direct support to a Northrop Grumman Maritime Targeting Cell (MTC) prototype system currently deployed with the U.S. Marines. • Provide training on the system hardware and software, as well as supporting the Marines in the unit with system operations, employment, and routine maintenance. • Execute hardware preventative maintenance, write procedures, perform Break/Fix, touch maintenance, and will be the inventory control/shipping and receiving POC at the site. • Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot systems, including antennas, rack-mount servers, client workstations, routers and switches. • Familiarity with configuration of encryption devices. • Create discrepancy reports (DR’s) and provide weekly status reports to factory in Aurora, CO. • Meet the requirements of DoD 8570.1-M at the IAT II or IAT III Level. • Able to apply operating system and software patches and updates on all prototype software and operating systems either independently or with reach-back support. • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays when required to meet Unit Operations and Training Requirements; may include travel to training sites.
