As we accelerate our growth across Asia, we are seeking a Communications Senior Manager, Asia to lead regional communications strategy, strengthen Crunchyroll's brand reputation, and drive impactful storytelling that connects anime fans, media, partners, and industry stakeholders across diverse markets. About the RoleAs the Communications Senior Manager, Asia, you will be responsible for developing and leading the communications strategy across emerging markets and opportunities to support broader regional initiatives. You will serve as the regional communications lead, shaping how Crunchyroll's brand, content, executives, and business priorities are represented across media, industry, and fan communities. This role requires a strategic communications leader who can operate at both the corporate and consumer level—driving visibility for major anime launches, theatrical releases, partnerships, and fan experiences while also protecting and enhancing Crunchyroll's reputation across the region. You will act as a trusted advisor to regional leadership, provide executive communications counsel, lead crisis and issues management efforts, and oversee a network of agency partners across multiple markets. Reporting to the Marketing Director, Asia, this role will play a critical leadership role in shaping Crunchyroll's communications strategy and long-term growth across Asia. The role will work closely with the Global Communications team, including the SVP, Communications, Senior Director of Corporate Communications, and the Director of Regional Communications & Strategy. This role will be remotely based in Singapore. What You’ll Do - Lead and execute Crunchyroll's communications strategy across Asia, aligning regional initiatives with business, brand, and marketing objectives. - Drive integrated communications campaigns for anime title launches (SVOD), theatrical releases, brand campaigns, partnerships, fan experiences, and corporate initiatives. - Develop compelling narratives and culturally relevant storytelling that strengthen Crunchyroll's brand leadership and fan engagement across diverse Asian markets. - Serve as a strategic communications advisor to regional leadership, supporting corporate communications, executive visibility, and key business announcements. - Lead crisis communications and issues management, providing counsel and response strategies for reputational, regulatory, and operational matters. - Build and maintain strong relationships with media across entertainment, lifestyle, business, and including anime communities and pop culture press, driving high-quality coverage through compelling storytelling, press outreach, and talent opportunities. - Localize global campaigns with Asian cultural relevance to resonate with regional audiences and media landscapes. - Manage PR agencies across multiple markets, providing clear direction while ensuring local relevance, consistency in messaging, and timely execution. - Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Content, Partnerships, Product, Legal, Public Policy, and Global Communications to support business priorities and market expansion. - Establish communications KPIs, analyze performance and sentiment, and deliver strategic insights and recommendations to regional and global leadership. What We’re Looking For - 8+ years of progressive experience in Communications, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Brand Communications, preferably in entertainment, streaming, media, technology, gaming, consumer brands. - Experienced navigating complex, matrixed global organizations and balancing regional priorities with global communications strategies. - Proven experience leading regional communications strategies and executing multi-market campaigns across Asia. - Track record of delivering high-impact communications campaigns that drive brand awareness, audience engagement, and business outcomes. - Demonstrated success advising senior business leaders and executives on communications strategy, corporate reputation, and crisis management. - Highly strategic, collaborative, and capable of influencing stakeholders and global/centralized Communications team. - Deep understanding of Asia's media landscape, cultural nuances, and evolving entertainment ecosystem. - Strong network of media, industry, and agency partners across the region. - Experience managing regional agency partnerships, budgets, and communications programs. - Exceptional storytelling, writing, presentation, and media relations capabilities. - Experience working with talent, creators, influencers, and fan communities is highly desirable. - Strategic, proactive, and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. - Passion for anime, entertainment, gaming, and fandom culture is strongly preferred. #LifeAtCrunchyroll #LI-remote About our ValuesWe want to be everything for someone rather than something for everyone and we do this by living and modeling our values in all that we do.
