Direct Travel
Role Description As a key member of the ESG team, the Senior Program Manager, Sustainability will be responsible for: - Strategy, reporting, internal and external engagement with key stakeholders such as business development, account management, suppliers, and customers. - Working with cross-functional management teams to integrate sustainability and diversity, equity, and inclusion within Direct Travel and affiliated group companies such as ATPI and Creative Group. - Playing a role in Direct Travel’s internal sustainability program and efforts supporting clients and prospects in their ESG journey. This position will work closely with multiple individuals within Direct Travel and reports to the Chief of Staff (ESG Lead). Expedition Expectations - Oversee and drive evolution of Direct Impact – Direct Travel’s ESG program via subject matter experts across the organization and its affiliates. - Measure and quantify data points and ensure accurate and timely reporting on all ESG initiatives utilizing multiple data resources within Direct Travel (predominantly Scope 3 GHG data). - Provide second level support of client carbon data queries and insights if and when applicable. - Create, manage, and report on committees and project team activities. - Manage contract staff and 3rd party suppliers, maximizing available resources. - Complete annual reporting directives and certification assessments as required (Ecovadis, CDP, CSRD, TCFD, SBTi). - Initiate supplier sustainability assessments and engagement. - Develop industry partnerships and engagement (like GBTA, BTN committees) as available. - Serve as subject matter expert for sales and marketing initiatives (RFP answers, Direct Impact Annual Report, client presentations, UN Global Compact, regular internal and external updates, etc). - Drive governance and practices around social sustainability, wellbeing, and DEI in collaboration with HR. - When applicable, work with the Halo Product Director to maximize client value and upsell opportunities, as well as to support new business development. Passport to Success - 5+ years of experience in positions relevant to ESG (professional qualifications are a plus). - Working experience in the corporate travel/hospitality sector is a strong plus. - Strong analytical skills in carbon accounting/analysis. - Able to balance strategy with execution. - Comfortable managing relationships with all level associates in the organization. - Excellent communication skills – verbal and written (experience with public speaking is a plus). - Position is remote, with office-based work optional depending on location. - Self-motivated, able to work independently, and possess excellent project management skills. - Working knowledge of MS products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and carbon accounting platforms. - Degree in Environmental Science, Business Sustainability, or Sustainable Tourism Management is ideal. - This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or efforts associated with the position.
