Role Description In the role of Field Applications Engineer for the Northeast you will work with the Americas sales team to technically differentiate Mersen to drive specification position and advance the sales process. Support conversions, specification development, new product launch and other pre-sale efforts. Focus on strategically significant accounts and opportunities in assigned territory. Complements the sales process by serving as the technical solution expert on opportunities. Keep abreast and up to date on current technologies, techniques and processes for Mersen’s product offering and applications. Builds relationships with key account stakeholders on a technical level. Provides technical linkage between the customer and Mersen. This is a fully remote position based out of MA, MD, NH, CT or NY. Main Accountabilities - Maintains high level of technical proficiency, application and market knowledge - Technically supports sales process for assigned opportunities and accounts - Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and partners in support of opportunities, own all technical aspects and provide technical guidance - Highly engage in PAC process - Translate key learnings and insight from customers into innovation/ideas for Mersen - Support new product launch - Support trade shows and seminars via technical hands on and presentations - Self motivated and willing to learn and embrace new technology via self teaching as well as formal training - Ability to travel as needed, at times with limited notice, by air or car up to 50% - Related duties as required Qualifications - Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or higher degree preferred - Excellent communicator of technical topics and subjects to a technical and non-technical audience including technical presentations to a large number of people - Technically proficient in products and applications - High degree of learning agility to stay abreast of new products, technology and applications - Solid interpersonal skills and ability to interact with technical counterparts - Highly innovative, out of the box thinker capable of translating field learning to new product ideas - Ability to travel as needed, at times with limited notice, by air or car Requirements - The expected salary for this position is between $100,000 and $125,000 and will be eligible for incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, locations, skills, training, and experience. Role Description Remote opportunity, Territory covers: Tennessee to Kansas City, Missouri. - Liaise with the commercial contracting community and perform quality assurance inspections of ongoing and completed commercial roofing jobs. - Prepare and conduct both theory and hands-on commercial product training for existing and potential Registered Contractors. - Produce written inspection and quality assurance reports for internal and external customers. - Work with contracting community and distribution network on product education and promotion. - Conduct warranty claims investigations when appropriate. - Attend and participate in related association events to promote IKO Commercial products. - Attend internal meetings, functions and company provided training as required. - Adhere to Health and Safety policies as well as IKO Vehicle policies. - Any other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications - Several years of hands-on experience in commercial roofing including exposure to installation methods for TPO roofing and other related products. - Ability to read technical roofing documentation/specifications. - Comfortable working with MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other office technology. - Formal training on roofing installations/quality control with large national roofing company is a plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Must have a valid driver’s license and can travel throughout the designated territory with potentially some overnight stays. Requirements - 3-5 years direct hands-on experience in commercial roofing business. - Ideally has experience with quality assurance and roof inspections with roofing contractor. - Understanding of commercial roofing assemblies and their applications. - Driver’s License in good standing required. - Must be authorized to work in the United States of America. Qualifications - You are highly skilled in electrical / mechanical engineering solutions, preferably in the marine and ports industry, but not essential. - Ability to demonstrate an ability to be flexible with schedules and be self-sufficient in the field. - You will have experience in field services - ABB product experience is desirable. - Willing to work in demanding environments, both in the UK and internationally, on and offshore. - Relevant tertiary qualification in electrical engineering and/or have a demonstrated professional track record. - You are at ease communicating with a wide variety of people, both work colleagues and from the customer side. - Demonstrate the ability to use Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel. - Hold current driving license valid in the UK.
