Field Engineer I

• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customer sites • Plan, coordinate, and complete software installations, upgrades, and hardware configurations • Troubleshoot technical issues related to software, firmware, and hardware • Develop and manage project plans, ensuring timely execution • Furnish post-installation aid to preserve system stability and customer happiness • Collaborate with collaborators to ensure adherence to all regulatory and operational requirements • Document processes and compose detailed reports to support continuous improvement • Manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment • Travel up to 75% to support client locations and project activities

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization, and networking concepts
  • Experience with database administration and enterprise networking technologies
  • Familiarity with clustered servers, containers (e.g., Kubernetes), and SAN environments is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco are a plus
  • Must be eligible to acquire relevant gaming licenses, including Tribal Gaming Licenses
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs during hardware installation
  • Must be able to travel and work in varying environments, including customer sites with noise or smoke exposure.

Role Description In the role of Field Applications Engineer for the Northeast you will work with the Americas sales team to technically differentiate Mersen to drive specification position and advance the sales process. Support conversions, specification development, new product launch and other pre-sale efforts. Focus on strategically significant accounts and opportunities in assigned territory. Complements the sales process by serving as the technical solution expert on opportunities. Keep abreast and up to date on current technologies, techniques and processes for Mersen’s product offering and applications. Builds relationships with key account stakeholders on a technical level. Provides technical linkage between the customer and Mersen. This is a fully remote position based out of MA, MD, NH, CT or NY.
