Principal Service Assurance Specialist

Role Description The Principal Service Assurance Specialist is a high-visibility, cross-functional role within the Network & Customer Transformation organization in Service Assurance. As Lumen brings groundbreaking service assurance capabilities to market—including NORA (Network Operations Response Agent), Laser diagnostics, AI-enabled repair, and agentic operations platforms—this role serves as the critical bridge between engineering, product, and marketing. - Serve as the primary voice and advocate for Lumen's Service Assurance innovation portfolio. - Develop compelling, customer-ready narratives, presentations, demos, knowledge articles, and collateral. - Act as the connective tissue between technical development teams and go-to-market functions. - Evaluate Service Assurance innovations for external monetization potential. - Establish and maintain best practices for how Service Assurance solutions are presented, documented, and adopted. - Engage directly with enterprise customers to gather feedback and validate solution value propositions. - Stay current on emerging AI/ML technologies and evaluate how they can enhance Service Assurance offerings. - Work closely with Service Assurance leadership and external partners to ensure alignment across all customer-facing innovation initiatives. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience. - 10+ years of experience in telecommunications, network engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Deep working knowledge of IP/MPLS, optical transport, Ethernet, voice, and broadband network technologies. - Demonstrated experience with AI/ML technologies and their application in operational or customer-facing use cases. - Exceptional presentation, public speaking, and storytelling skills. - Strong track record of translating complex technical solutions into clear, business-outcome-focused messaging. - Experience developing customer-facing content, including presentations, demos, and training materials. - Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Requirements - Master's degree in Telecommunications, Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, or related field (preferred). - Prior experience in a technology evangelist, solutions architect, pre-sales engineering, or product marketing role. - Experience evaluating or launching productized/monetized technology solutions. - Familiarity with Lumen's service assurance platforms and automation frameworks. - Experience with agentic AI systems and multi-agent architectures. - Knowledge of customer service management (CSM) and trouble ticketing systems. - Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, ITIL, or cloud platform certifications. - Experience presenting at industry conferences or customer advisory boards.
