The NCWRC is the regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of North Carolina's fishing, hunting, trapping, and boating laws. This District 7 Fisheries Biologist position conducts biological surveys, fisheries research, and habitat enhancement activities; provides technical assistance and informational services to government agencies, universities, and individuals; responds to emergency situations (fish kills); and completes special assignments as directed by regional and Division staff. This District 7 Fisheries Biologist position serves as a liaison between the Commission and the public, private organizations, and other public agencies. Most activities are conducted in the 11 North Carolina counties of Commission District 7. The position provides the day-to-day activities of the District Fisheries Biologist I, and some projects may involve the supervision of one or more conservation technicians or temporary employees. This position is HOME-BASED. The workstation for this position is in the employee's home-based office using an agency-provided computer. The employee in this position is expected to provide home office space compliant with WRC and State policies. This position requires a home-based duty station within the WRC - District 7 area.
