Senior AI Software Engineer

• Build production-grade applications using TypeScript and modern AI development tools • Develop full-stack prototypes that clearly demonstrate capabilities to internal stakeholders and enterprise customers • Design, test, and optimize prompts across leading foundation models including OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini • Implement context engineering strategies that provide AI systems with the right information at the right time • Design and build agentic workflows and AI-powered automation systems • Create frameworks for monitoring, testing, and evaluating LLM performance • Analyze large datasets to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions • Architect scalable systems capable of supporting multiple enterprise clients • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to rapidly validate ideas and deliver solutions • Contribute to AI strategy discussions and help guide technical decision-making around model selection, architecture, and deployment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Minimum 7 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven experience leading or owning AI/LLM projects from concept through deployment
  • Strong full-stack development experience with: TypeScript, React, SQL
  • Experience working with modern LLMs and AI APIs, including OpenAI, Claude, and/or Gemini
  • Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering, model evaluation, and AI application development
  • Experience designing and implementing agent-based systems or AI-driven workflows
  • Strong understanding of: System architecture, APIs, Scalability principles, Database design, Open-source ecosystems
  • Experience creating structured testing methodologies and performance metrics for AI systems
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
  • Strong judgment regarding when AI outputs can be trusted and when deeper engineering validation is required.

Role Description As a Principal I&C Parts Project Engineer, you will support the Westinghouse Parts Business Product Management group with a focus on I&C parts. You will be responsible for a variety of product management and product marketing activities, including development and execution of an obsolescence management program. Additionally, you will assist with managing key teaming partner relationships, developing market assessments, product strategies, marketing materials, new product innovation, and competitor analyses for the global nuclear market. You will report to the I&C Product Manager. This role will be based out of our Cranberry Township, PA location but can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States. - Identify and support strategic initiatives, develop product offerings, and pursue target product markets. - Develop an obsolescence management program and ongoing execution working with various stakeholders to continuously monitor/identify obsolescence, classify and prioritize needs, and develop/execute a resolution strategy. - Develop business cases to be evaluated for strategic decision making on project funding and pricing. - Support project management of strategic tasks, developing/supporting supplier teaming arrangements, and supporting project teams for part delivery/product development/offer development. - Conduct market/acquisition assessments and support for outside sales organization on product value propositions. - Lead commercial discussions with suppliers and customers, and interface with global customers/suppliers. - Work with engineering and design teams on part design, obsolescence management, equipment qualification, and perform other business assessments or evaluations with consideration for voice of customer and product lifecycle. - Solve problems related to customer issues, order fulfillment, new product development, and supplier teaming. - Travel to customers, suppliers, and/or industry conferences located worldwide (North and South America, Europe, and Asia). - Other responsibilities as assigned with the goal of implementing Westinghouse strategic initiatives. Qualifications - 8+ years of experience. - Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university. - Experience with nuclear products market and product management concepts. - Ability to effectively manage multiple domestic and international stakeholders. Requirements - Base salary range for this position is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year, depending upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
