Responsibilities - Advise and represent state agencies and officials in a variety of legal matters. - Oversee the work of the Attorney General's office and manage a team of attorneys and support staff. - Develop and implement legal strategies to protect state interests and uphold the law. - Represent the state in court and administrative proceedings, including complex litigation. - Collaborate with other state and federal agencies on legal initiatives and policy development. - Advocate for legislative changes to enhance the legal framework and protect public interests. - Engage with the public and stakeholders to promote transparency and accountability.
Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction, with a record of good standing.
- 10+ years of legal experience, with significant experience in public law or government legal work.
- Previous experience in a leadership role or as a senior attorney preferred.
- Strong understanding of state and federal laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
- Exceptional advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
