Job Description
Forward Deployed Engineer, Fintech
Lazer Technologies
• Embed with client teams to understand their users and their challenges, then build and extend their product to meet real needs. • Develop custom solutions and integrations that solve concrete client problems. • Translate what you learn from users into clear, actionable feedback for the client's product and engineering teams. • Build and maintain integrations with the services fintech products depend on: payment processors, banking partners, and financial data providers • Build full-stack features that are increasingly AI-powered (LLM-driven workflows, agentic features, and the product around them), using AI across your own workflow to ship faster while keeping quality high. • Support client teams with onboarding, documentation, and training on what you build, so it holds up after you roll off. • Build strong, trust-based relationships with client teams, acting as a technical partner and advocate, not just a contractor.
Job Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience building and shipping production software, full-stack or backend-leaning.
- Comfort across a modern web stack (TypeScript, React, Node.js). Python is a plus, especially for AI work.
- AI-native: you build with AI by default (LLM APIs, agentic workflows, AI coding tools) and are comfortable shipping AI-powered features.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a builder's instinct, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers, founders, and non-technical stakeholders alike.
- Comfort working directly with clients, and an eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-moving environment.
- Some exposure to fintech or financial products, or a genuine interest in the domain, with an awareness of why security and compliance matter when handling financial data.
Benefits
- Work From Anywhere: Choose your workspace — all you need is strong wifi and a passion for building!
- Work / Life Balance: We believe in our team’s ability to have it all; a great career, and time to unplug and live…you know...life.
- Employee Care: We provide full benefits (healthcare, dental, vision) for our employees (401k for our US employees)
- Unlimited PTO: Everyone needs a break. Take at least 15 days off a year, and more if you need—just be cool about it and keep the team in mind.
- Regular Team Retreat: Join us for a week of team bonding at amazing destinations. Recent trips include the Dominican Republic, Cancun, and Hawaii — plus ones welcome.
