The Role At Tokamak Energy, we are pioneering the future of clean energy through high-temperature superconducting (HTS) technology. Our TE Magnetics division is rewriting the rules of power system design—moving beyond traditional high-voltage paradigms to ultra-high-current, low-voltage architectures. We are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to take ownership of power conversion systems within cutting-edge programmes such as SuperDC. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will design, build, test, and iterate novel power electronics solutions, turning experimental concepts into real, deployable systems. What You’ll Be Doing - Designing power electronics systems (including DC-DC converters, PSUs, and multi-stage architectures) - Owning a subsystem end-to-end, from concept through to demonstrator - Developing and running high-power test programmes - Working closely with multidisciplinary teams (HTS, systems, control, mechanical) - Applying first-principles thinking to solve complex engineering problems - Translating experimental learnings into robust, product-ready solutions Requirements - Strong experience in power electronics design, development, and testing - Background in power conversion (DC-DC, converters, control systems) - Ability to work independently and own technical problems end-to-end - Experience in industrial, high-power, or complex engineering environments - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams Benefits - Please note this role does offer hybrid working, our model sets out a minimum 60% onsite / 40% home working split. • Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of SQL engineers across the US and Eastern Europe. • Own the end-to-end service model for custom analytics requests, including intake, scoping, Jira execution, QA, customer review, feedback loops, and SLAs. • Serve as a customer-facing technical leader, joining calls to scope complex requests, present dashboards, explain data logic, and translate business questions into clear SQL deliverables. • Set the standard for delivery quality, ensuring dashboards and queries are accurate, well-documented, and QA’d against key Triple Whale data sources before reaching customers. • Improve the systems and processes that support the team, including ticket routing, request categorisation, capacity planning, documentation, and reporting. • Build a more thoughtful taxonomy of customer requests by product surface, segment, complexity, and use case to improve planning and surface product insights. • Partner with Customer Success, Solutions Architecture, Implementation, Sales, Product, and Engineering to support renewals, expansions, escalations, and strategic customer work. • Help identify which requests should be solved through self-serve product functionality, documentation, enablement, or Product/Engineering investment rather than custom SQL. • Continue the team’s partnership with Product and Engineering on internal platform work, including template libraries, Moby-related SQL work, migrations, and AI-enabled analytics workflows. • Balance customer-facing delivery with internal technical priorities, ensuring the team’s time is focused on the highest-impact work. • Act as the technical voice in conversations around Advanced Intelligence credits, customer value, and the role of custom analytics in retention and expansion.

About the role Riot is seeking a Liquid Cooling Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Central Operations team. In this role, you will serve as the technical authority for the deployment, commissioning, optimization, and lifecycle management of industrial-scale liquid cooling systems. You will bridge engineering design and field execution, leading complex cooling infrastructure including heat exchangers, fluid distribution systems, valves, controls, and monitoring platforms. This is a hands-on, highly visible role focused on ensuring reliability and performance in high-density computing environments. This position is remote, with up to 75% travel required to support site activities, troubleshooting, and operational initiatives at our Rockdale, TX site. What you'll be doing - Lead the technical strategy for industrial liquid cooling systems, including large-scale direct-to-chip, cold-plate, and immersion deployments - Apply thermal theory to validate system-level heat balance, fluid chemistry, and heat exchanger performance - Support end-to-end liquid-cooled rack deployments, providing project management support for full lifecycle execution - Serve as a subject matter expert in valves, pumps, VFD controls, and piping hydraulics to ensure stable flow and pressure management - Define and optimize control logic, alarm thresholds, and fail-safe interlocks in collaboration with automation teams (PLC/BMS) - Support commissioning activities for liquid systems, including hydro-testing, flow balancing, and thermal validation under load - Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for thermal and fluid incidents and drive continuous improvement to reduce MTTR and repeat failures - Develop maintenance protocols, SOPs, MOPs, and training programs for water treatment and safe operation of liquid cooling systems What you'll have - 7+ years of experience in industrial water cooling or critical infrastructure, with a strong focus on large-scale fluid systems - Proven experience in deployment and maintenance of hyperscale data center liquid cooling systems strongly preferred - Strong understanding of thermal heat transfer and fluid dynamics, with expert knowledge of industrial valves, heat exchangers, and pumping systems - Proficiency in reading and developing P&IDs and mechanical schematics - Hands-on experience with industrial controls (PLC/BMS), alarm management, and data-driven troubleshooting - Ability to manage complex projects and influence cross-functional teams (Construction, Engineering, Operations) without direct authority - Ability to meet physical job requirements and work in a data center environment - Preferred experience in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical Engineering) or a related field.
