Field Service Engineer
Topcon Positioning Systems
• provide technical support for Topcon customers • perform independent and/or supervised on-site installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs on Topcon’s extensive portfolio of Eyecare equipment • collaborate with other FSE's, Field Service Manager, Sales Representatives, and internal cross-functional teams • manage and control field inventory, tools, test equipment, technical documentation, and other assigned equipment • prepare and submit applicable field service documentation in a complete, accurate and timely manner • instruct/training customers on technical operation and maintenance of equipment • travel to assist in other Field Service territories
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
- Previous experience as a field service professional or in a relevant capacity
- CompTIA Network+ certification or networking background preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates or Bachelors preferred
- Demonstrated functional technical, problem-solving, and analytical skills required
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with customers required
- Possess ability to follow mentorship instructions and guidance required
- Time management skills to effectively meet customer commitments required.

• Execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines. • Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. • Work with customer to identify opportunities in the installed base, to improve system performance and operational performance. • Provide knowledge of and conduct work activities in compliance with the ABB HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), ABB Way, and Safety Manual & Safety policy at all times. • Responsible for hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment in respective area. • Lead outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors including project management, lead site engineer or site project manager. • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet, and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis. • Plan, organize, and perform multifunctional field assignments in designated areas of expertise, directing the work of other field engineers and craft labor as required, in a timely and efficient manner. • Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability. • Plan, prepare, and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required, to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in area of specialization • Complete administrative functions in a timely manner associated with work.
• Ensure the performance and reliability of advanced systems like Coroflow and OPTIS by installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment that supports patient care. • Serve as a key technical expert, providing high-quality service and training to healthcare professionals while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence. • Perform installations, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance of Abbott’s Vascular Division instrumentation. • Perform technology installation, configuration, connectivity, calibration, safety/functional testing emergency repair, preventative maintenance, and product updates at customer site of the Vascular product lines. • Provides in-service training to clinicians on the use of Abbott Vascular technology platforms and accessories, primarily Coroflow and OPTIS systems. • Establish and sustain active communication link with CSC personnel, and provide daily support for all territories as required.
