Software Systems Engineer

Sigma Defense Systems LLC

• Support PMA-290 Mission Systems Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) in support of Combat and Mission Systems. • CONOPS analysis, requirements decomposition, software development plan and schedule, and program execution efforts meeting 100% of Fleet expectations. • Develop technical capabilities roadmaps. • Participate in ECP/TD development, approval, and implementation. • Generate engineering and technical analyses, requirements UI designs, change proposals, and other technical documentation as required. • Assist in troubleshooting the P-8A Mission Systems and Combat Systems when malfunctions and failures are reported by Fleet customers. • Assist in on-going implementation of the Agile Development methodology. • Support all efforts to remove impediments of the engineering team to ensure on time delivery and completion of sprints and deliverables (A003). • Support the development, design, and architecture recommendations for current and future PEO C4I Software (SW) and hardware (HW) baselines. • Decompose high level CDP's (Correction of Deficiency Packages) into requirements and use cases that can be developed against by the SW team. • Consult with SME's of different onboard systems to facilitate working groups to define fleet desires into concrete workable tasks. • Assist SW team in defining scope of work and definition of done through iterative requirements approval meetings. • Create use case documentation to demonstrate proposed changes for stakeholder approval and SW team decomposition.

Job Requirements

  • 2-5 years of one of the following:
  • Systems Engineering Experience
  • P8 Mission System Experience
  • P8 Combat Systems Experience
  • Naval/DoD Application Software Development Experience
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Strong writing/communication skills.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related field of study.

Senior - Principal Engineer - Water Systems & Water Supply Planning The Senior - Principal Engineer role will contribute to the development of the firm’s Water Business Sector (which encompasses water system, water resource, stormwater, recycled water, and collection system planning). Previous experience with Water System Planning/Hydraulic Modeling is required. Candidates with a desire to develop their career toward technical leadership, client service management, and/or regional/sector management are ideal. Key Responsibilities & Functions: - Serving as a technical leader in water distribution system hydraulic evaluations utilizing a variety of commercial hydraulic modeling software programs (e.g., InfoWater Pro, OpenFlows WaterGEMS, Aquanuity, etc.). - Working as part of teams on projects throughout California and Oregon with an emphasis on Southern California-based projects and clients. - Analyzing water use, population, water quality, and facilities condition data - Evaluating water supply availability. - Developing water supply and water system capital improvement programs. - Preparing technical reports and master plans. - Serving as a project manager directing the hydraulic modeling and master planning work of senior level, as well as other staff engineers. - Providing QA/QC review on the work of others in the water planning team - Interacting directly with clients and providing excellent client service. - Assisting with marketing activities and proposal development when needed. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering. - 10+ years of experience with Water System Planning and Hydraulic Modeling. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Experience with CAD, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWater Pro). - PE licensure in the State of California. PE licensure in other states in which the firm is actively practicing may also be considered.
