Role Description Agilious is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and drive the development of cutting-edge, scalable software applications, translating complex business requirements into robust, cloud-native technical blueprints and ensuring seamless implementation from concept to deployment. As a consultant for Agilious, you will be instrumental in defining and shaping technical strategy across a range of high-priority domains, including IT modernization, software development, data analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs. The Solution Architect serves as a critical bridge between customer mission outcomes and technical execution. Your primary responsibility will be to think strategically about complex customer challenges while providing the technical depth required to design architectures that are feasible, compliant, and highly competitive. What You’ll Do - Solution Design: Analyze business needs and design comprehensive, end-to-end architectural solutions (microservices, event-driven, etc.). Present solution concepts, roadmaps, staffing strategies, and architectures to customer stakeholders. - Technology Strategy: Select appropriate tech stacks, platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), languages C#, (.Net Core, Java, Python, low/no-code, etc.), and tools. - Guidance & Oversight: Provide technical leadership, guide development teams, and ensure adherence to architectural standards. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, management, and development teams, communicating vision and progress. - Modern Practices: Champion Agile, DevOps, and cloud-native principles throughout the lifecycle. - Quality & Risk: Ensure solutions are scalable, performant, secure, and cost-effective; manage technical risks. - Prototyping & POCs: Develop proofs of concept to validate solutions. - Mission Alignment: Ensure that all designed solutions are strategically aligned with the customer's mission and agency-level goals. Engage directly with Federal and DoD customers to understand mission requirements and technical challenges. - Business Development & Capture: Work closely with Business Development (BD), Business Analyst, and Proposal Teams to shape and influence early-stage pursuits and develop tailored technical strategies. - Staffing & Execution Planning: Develop staffing plans, levels of effort (LOEs), and work breakdown structures (WBSs) to ensure solutions are executable, cost-effective, and compliant with solicitation requirements. Collaborate with pricing and program management teams to balance technical approach, staffing, and cost competitiveness. - Proposal Development: Serve as the lead technical author/reviewer, ensuring that all proposal content is compliant, compelling, and maximizes our Probability of Win (pWin). - Other similar professional duties may be assigned as needed. Qualifications - Must have at least minimum 10 years of industry experience in this role or a similar role. - Experience with Enterprise Architecture, and creating enterprise roadmaps. - Solution Architecture, particularly with software integrations, COTS integrations, SaaS, IaaS and PaaS implementations. - Experience with hybrid-cloud solution design and implementation. - Understanding of AI-based Software Delivery, and full SDLC implementation. - Understanding of Agentic AI frameworks and AI based workflow technologies. - Experience with various database technologies, including NoSQL & RDBMS, and knowledge of data architectures, database design and interface designs. - Experience with API gateways and Zero-Trust Architectures and understanding of AI Gateways. - Experience with Container & Serverless technologies and implementation on AWS, Azure of GCP. - Experience with DevSecOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Automatons. - Understanding of Machine Learning concepts and LLMs. - Adept at delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers to the team, and both planning at a higher level and getting into the details to make things happen when needed. - Proven experience supporting Federal or DoD proposals as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead. - Experience setting up teams for successful delivery by removing obstacles (or blockers to progress), and constantly helping the team to become more self-organizing. - Enterprise-level experience with large and complex IT modernization efforts, specifically including the successful delivery of IT software solutions. - Experience developing solutions and architectures for cloud-based, hybrid, and on-premises environments. - Proven experience in architecting complex web/software applications. - Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and styles (microservices, serverless). - Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures. - Proficiency in modern development practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps). - Strong programming background (Java, Python, C#) and hands-on technical ability. - Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. - Nice if you have experience with Analytical Platforms like Databricks or Snowflake. Education and Training - A Bachelor’s or post-graduate degree in IT, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent. - Master’s Degree in a related field preferred. - Certificates to demonstrate knowledge and competency. - Knowledgeable about all phases of the software development life cycle and solution delivery for web, client-server, and cloud-based systems. - Subject matter expertise in the field of work. - Good knowledge of modern software engineering principles and best practices. - Proven track record of work experience as an architect, project manager, or developer.
