Title: Senior Manager, Global Sourcing NPD 1 Horizon Way, Deerfield, ILLINOIS Employees work in a hybrid mode Flexibility to work remotely on Monday & Friday Full-time Department: Other Job Description: The Senior Manager, Global Sourcing - New Product Development (NPD) provides strategic, portfolio level leadership for sourcing and supplier development activities supporting new product programs across all business units within Fortune Brands (Water, Security, Outdoors). This role is accountable for ensuring that sourcing execution within the NPD stage gate process delivers competitive cost, robust supply, high quality, and launch readiness for all new products. This role partners closely with Engineering, Product Management, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Category Management, and external suppliers to ensure early supplier involvement, risk mitigation, and scalable supply solutions throughout the product lifecycle. This position plays a key role in process improvement, capability building, and strategic supplier engagement to improve speed, predictability, and effectiveness of NPD execution globally. Location: This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, reporting into the Deerfield HQ 3x per week (Tues-Thurs) with the option to work remotely on Monday & Friday. RESPONSIBLIITIES: Portfolio & Strategic Leadership - Own the Global Sourcing NPD portfolio across assigned business units, ensuring alignment with business strategy, category strategies, and innovation roadmaps. - Guide prioritization and resource allocation across multiple NPD programs, balancing risk, cost, capacity, and time to market. - Provide executive level visibility into sourcing readiness, risks, and performance for all major NPD initiatives. NPD Stage Gate Governance - Ensure sourcing deliverables are consistently defined, understood, and completed for each stage gate milestone. - Establish and enforce standard expectations for sourcing participation in phase gate reviews, including supplier selection, cost models, tooling readiness, and launch capacity. - Proactively identify and escalate sourcing or supplier risks that may impact quality, cost, or schedule. People Leadership & Talent Development - Directly manage and develop Global Sourcing NPD Project Managers, including coaching on cross functional leadership, negotiation, and complex problem solving. - Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and build sourcing program management capability across the team. - Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Supplier Strategy & Early Engagement - Partner with Strategic Sourcing Category Leaders to align NPD programs with long term supplier strategies. - Ensure strong Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) across all NPD programs, including DFM/DFA reviews, technical collaboration, and capacity planning. - Provide senior level leadership in supplier negotiations, conflict resolution, and escalation management. Cross Functional Integration - Serve as the senior sourcing interface to Engineering, Product Management, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations leadership during NPD. - Lead and support cross functional teams in developing solutions to complex business, technical, and supply base challenges. - Ensure smooth transition from NPD execution into sustaining production and category ownership. Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement - Lead the development and improvement of global NPD sourcing processes, tools, and standards to improve execution speed, consistency, and results. - Drive lessons learned and best practice sharing across business units and programs. - Support digital enablement and data integration with ERP and PLM systems (SAP, Oracle). Qualifications - Minimum of 10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or NPD program leadership. - Proven experience leading sourcing activities within a stage gate NPD environment. - Demonstrated people leadership experience managing and developing professionals. - Strong background in manufacturing sourcing and supplier development. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience supporting global manufacturing and supply bases. - Experience leading sourcing transformation or process improvement initiatives. - Strong working knowledge of major ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred). - PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification a plus. Additional Information Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $124,000 USD - $190,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
