Analytical Chemistry Director

• Establish the vision for analytical programs and align testing strategies with broader business goals • Oversee the creation and validation of new analytical methods for detecting substances (e.g., food contact testing, allergens or heavy metals) • Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including equipment qualification, maintenance, and achievement of job deadlines • Lead and mentor a team of scientists and analysts; oversee hiring, training, and performance reviews • Ensure all laboratory activities adhere to strict quality systems (ISO 17025) and manage regulatory audits and inspections • Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to integrate analytical findings into product development and lifecycle management • Oversee third-party testing sites and maintain relationships with external vendors and factories
Job Requirements
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field
- Typically 10–12+ years in analytical chemistry or product testing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, ICP and Ion Chromatography
- Deep understanding of CPSC, FDA, USP , and environmental standards like PFAS regulations
