Business Development Manager
Rulemapping Group
• You report directly to the Country Manager Netherlands and actively shape the market entry into the Netherlands (Greenfield) together with her: building pipeline, customer base, and market presence • Active new business development and end-to-end ownership of the full sales cycle — from first outreach to signed contract — with a clear focus on the private sector (B2B) in highly regulated industries such as banking, insurance, pharma, and comparable sectors • Identification of new business opportunities and development of tailored solutions for decision-makers in compliance, legal, and risk • Build and activate a local partner ecosystem — comprising law firms, Big 4 compliance practices, and specialist consultancies — as a pipeline multiplier alongside direct outreach • Manage and strategically develop existing client relationships across the full customer lifecycle • Build a robust network of clients, partners, and relevant stakeholders • Close collaboration with internal teams (Delivery, Legal Engineering, AI Engineering, Configuration, PMO, Service) to ensure successful implementations and lasting client satisfaction • Alignment with Product Management and Marketing to optimally position our solutions in the Dutch market • Represent Rulemapping at events, industry conferences, regulatory forums, and on LinkedIn
Job Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, STEM, or comparable qualification
- Several years of B2B sales or business development experience in a SaaS or tech environment — this is a hard requirement
- Proven track record of hunting and closing new accounts — not just managing existing ones
- Experience building a new market or launching a product in a Greenfield environment is a strong plus
- An existing network in the Dutch financial services, compliance, or regulated industry community (e.g. compliance officers, MLROs, heads of financial crime, regulatory affairs leads) is a significant advantage
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models, cloud technologies, and digital transformation processes in regulated industries
- Confident communicator at C-level with strong negotiation skills
- Experience in RegTech, LegalTech, GovTech, or financial services compliance is a strong plus
- Builder mindset: you create structure where none exists and don't wait for inbound
- High degree of self-motivation and enthusiasm for taking ownership in an early market phase
- Language skills: Dutch C2, English minimum C1, German nice-to-have.
Benefits
- A key role in shaping the growth of an emerging GovTech company
- Flexible working models and a modern company culture
- Innovative projects and long-term career opportunities
- A dynamic team with significant room to contribute and drive your own ideas
