Strategic Communications Systems Technician
The Marlin Alliance, Inc.
• Lead technical analysis and engineering efforts related to tactical communications, with an emphasis on HF/BLOS/strategic radio systems, military waveforms, and system integration. • Perform hands-on testing and evaluation of military communications systems, including antenna performance assessment (VSWR, gain, radiation patterns) and waveform interoperability testing. • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on the design, installation, and fielding of new communications systems, contributing to site surveys and infrastructure planning. • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, maintenance schedules, and integration guides for new and existing systems. • Analyze system-of-systems interoperability challenges, focusing on legacy integration, interface management, and data exchange across joint and coalition platforms. • Provide subject matter expertise and user support for tactical radio systems and COMSEC protocols. • Participate in technical working groups, providing expert input grounded in extensive field and operational experience.
Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required; must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience; 8+ years of experience in military communications systems.
- Current and relevant experience supporting TACAMO ground and airborne operations.
- Deep technical knowledge of military HF radio platforms, including the ARC-190, L3Harris RF-7800 series, and AN/PRC-160.
- Proven experience testing and operating a wide range of HF waveforms across military and government systems.
- Strong background in Communications Security (COMSEC) and Information Security (INFOSEC).
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide technical training and user support.
- Experience with the L3Harris Communication Planning Application (CPA).
- Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification or equivalent instructional experience.
- Familiarity with Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) and emerging joint force technology domains.
- IAT-II or higher certification (DoD 8570/8140).
