Title: Revenue Accountant Location: San Francisco, California Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager, this position will play an important role in supporting and scaling Fin’s revenue accounting operations. You will collaborate across Accounting, Revenue Operations, Finance Systems, Data, and GTM teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition and help support a best-in-class accounting organization. We are seeking a driven, open-minded, and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about revenue accounting operations, process improvements, and leveraging technology to build scalable solutions. This role requires strong communication skills, solid accounting fundamentals including US GAAP and ASC 606, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. What will I be doing? - Assist in day-to-day revenue accounting activities to ensure compliance with ASC 606, internal policies, and external audits - Support the monthly revenue close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables - Prepare revenue and AR-related account reconciliations and analyses to support general ledger balances - Assist with revenue recognition for SaaS subscriptions, usage-based revenue, overages, ramped contracts, and other non-standard arrangements under ASC 606 - Partner with Revenue Operations, Finance Systems, and Data teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue-related data - Perform variance and flux analysis to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and explain key business drivers - Support external audits by preparing audit deliverables and responding to auditor inquiries - Assist with maintaining and improving revenue accounting processes, controls, and documentation - Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability of the monthly close and reporting processes - Assist with ad hoc analyses, user acceptance testing, reporting, and special projects as needed What skills do I need? - 2–3 years of experience in public accounting and/or industry - Curiosity to challenge the status quo and leverage technology to build scalable processes and streamline accounting operations - Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills - Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal - Strong understanding of accounting principles and foundational knowledge of ASC 606 - Highly proficient in Excel - Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness - Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy - Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Systems, Data, and GTM teams Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - CPA or progress toward CPA is a strong plus - Experience working in NetSuite (NetSuite ARM experience preferred) - Experience with SaaS and/or usage-based revenue models - Familiarity with Stripe, Salesforce (SFDC), and Snowflake is a plus - Knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition concepts - Interest in automation, AI tools, and process improvement initiatives - Experience supporting audits and maintaining process documentation and controls Benefits - We are a well-treated bunch with awesome benefits! The base salary range for candidates within the San Francisco Bay Area is $129,000-$154,000. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
