Territory Manager

Role Description Responsible for managing the demand creation, and sales of Trus Joist engineered lumber products in high density or multi-family housing market segments. This role covers the Eastern Metro areas so must live in or near an eastern metropolitan area. - Develops and implements market strategies that maximize the opportunity for success, focused on multiple metro markets, teaming with other territory managers. - Drives sales and profit by creating primary demand for products by working with builders, dealers, the design community, and building officials. Focuses on selling solutions to generate profit. - Develops and delivers customer-specific solutions that quantifiably demonstrate value and improved returns for the builder. - Develops and nurtures relationships with key customers at the appropriate customer levels to grow the business and ensure that customers play an active role in determining how they are to be serviced. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with architects, specifiers, etc. - Provides product and solution knowledge training/education to builders, design community, dealers, distributors and building officials aligned with the Trus Joist training program. - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), able to convert ideas and concerns clearly and persuasively. - Understands and can persuasively explain residential construction, technical, and design concepts regarding value creation to the builder. - Skilled in business acumen, financial competency, and negotiation. - Demonstrated creativity in approach to problem solving and solutions. - Strong consultative selling ability. Working knowledge of levers to drive results to meet sales strategy/profitability targets. - Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships internally and externally. - Requires ability to travel to customers on a regular, ongoing basis. Qualifications - Must have minimum High School diploma/GED. - 2-3+ years of overall experience with 1-2+ years in sales, engineering, or a related industry. Location This is a remote role provided you are located in one of the following metro areas: Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA; New York City, NY. This role is not available to other cities, states or countries. Benefits - Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, targeting a salary range of $75,600-$135,509 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Sales Incentive Program, targeting 25% of your base salary, paid out quarterly, based on market performance. - Comprehensive employee benefits plan, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. - Pre-tax Health Savings Account option which includes a company contribution. - Other benefit options such as voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. - Support for personal volunteerism, sponsorship of diversity networks, promotion of mentoring, and training and development opportunities. - 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary. - 3-weeks of paid vacation for eligible employees scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week during the first year of employment. - Accrual of vacation for future use after six months of employment. - Recognition of eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
