Desktop Support, LAN/WAN, Server Administration, Imaging Systems, Telecom, Instruments. - Research and analyze new technology solutions to be applied in the Field; collaborate with business partners to document requirements and demonstrate how the proposed technology solutions will satisfy the business requirements. - Develop IT plans and strategies. - Provide input to the development of technical standards for implementing new technologies and automation solutions in the Field; develop SOPs for managing technology standards and solutions in the Field. - Troubleshoot technical problems and issues in the Field; perform root cause analysis and report findings to Management. - Identify and manage risks associated with operational support and other automation technologies in the Field. - Act as the on-sight Technical Specialist and Business Unit liaison for all corporate infrastructure projects. - Provide consultative services to the Business Unit as it relates to technology and automation solutions in the Field. - Coordinate file restoration processes, as needed. - Function as the local point of escalation for all anti-virus efforts and failed IMACs. - Maintain Active Directory user groups and permissions. Asset Management: - Function as the Business Unit consult for all software and hardware acquisition and disposal activities. Ensure that a secured storage area is available and used for storage of all desktops and related peripherals. - Coordinate asset disposal for Quest Diagnostics Workstation (QSW) machines and peripherals. - Ensure that the Quest Diagnostics Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) policies are enforced at the Business Unit. Vendor Management: - Function as the single point of contact (SPOC) for Unisys and Wipro at the Business Unit; approve all Install, Move, Add and Change (IMAC) requests; provide Unisys access to facilities and PCs in the Business Unit. Audit: - Maintain current knowledge of compliance requirements and develop specifications to meet those requirements - Responsible for knowledge and compliance of all CAP and other regulatory requirements, and maintaining all relevant documentation to support various audits; responsible for managing all corrective actions regarding audit findings. - Develop and participate in customer/user classroom training as necessary. - Train other staff members on the SOPs for the supported systems. - Clean / valid driver's license required - On Call Coverage required - Consults with business unit to provide operational assistance and user specification definition to employees and customers - May perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education - Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience (Required) Required Work Experience: 5 plus years infrastructure engineering proficiency Physical Requirements: - Physical Requirements - Ability to routinely lift 40 lbs; walk long distances; stand and bend in tight spaces; drive short and long distances. Knowledge: Demonstrates highest level of understanding as subject matter expert (master) of this skill area, attained by # of years, evidence of related successful project completion and size Skills: - Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. - Project management experience and knowledge - Problem Management - Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills - Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications skills - Strong commitment to customer and employee satisfaction. - Experience working with customers, both internal and external. - Experience in a Clinical Laboratory environment desired.
