Role Description The Senior Buyer supports the strategic and tactical procurement of goods and services for Viant Medical. As Senior Buyer, you will be involved in the management of key suppliers and supply relationships, support the implementation of Viant global supply programs, and assist in the continuous development of Procurement processes. This role may be customer-facing and can work in cooperation with our customers on complex supplier programs, including price and supply negotiations. Additionally, you will mentor other Procurement team members, with clear communication being a hallmark of the role. Work model: This will be a remote role from Costa Rica to support Upland, CA and Elkhorn, WI facilities. What you will do: - Participate in the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies, and priorities. - Active participation in Inventory strategy definition to achieve Inventory DOH goal. - Participate in and generate VIP initiatives. - Provide technical training and support to Buyers. - Lead multi-functional teams with personnel from different departments. - Identify and participate in the resolution of issues by employing strong analytical and planning skills. - Support product launch manager on project teams as required. - Monitor Inventory levels. Identify gaps and drive solutions. - Maintain Procurement Metrics according to plan. - Track Suppliers performance. - Identify gaps and drive solutions with Supplier and Viant Supplier Quality representative. - Coordinate and lead Supplier Change Requests. - Follow all GMP and SOPs as defined by Viant Medical policies, practices, and procedures to ensure that FDA and ISO regulations and quality standards are met. - Responsible for purchasing the best quality raw materials, components, and production supplies at the lowest cost, ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules. - Maintain assigned raw materials, components, and supplies at required inventory levels. - Ensure purchases meet quality and quantity requirements according to specifications, reporting discrepancies to the Operations team and resolving discrepancies with suppliers. - Process, review, and confirm all requisitions for assigned raw material, indirect products, or services converted into POs through the ERP system. - Ensure material is scheduled and delivered to meet the Master Schedule in accordance with Purchasing policies and procedures. - Handle all direct negotiations with suppliers regarding any material claims. - Maintain electronic customer base. Responsible for keeping all contact info current. - When placing purchase orders, review for accuracy, pricing, account coding, and ensure the requested supplier is on the Approved Supplier List. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field required. - APICS -CSCP-CPIM certification is a plus. - English: Advanced (verbal and written communication required for daily interaction with stakeholders). Requirements - 3 years of experience in a Purchasing position. - Direct purchasing experience of Silicon, Rubber, plastics, and some metals.
