The GTPN (Global Treasury and Payment Network) Team is at the heart of Airwallex's payment infrastructure, specializing in expanding the coverage of Airwallex's global treasury and payment network, enhancing its capabilities and user experience, and provisioning innovative payment products grounded in a robust financial infrastructure. Role Description isolved is transforming its 7M+ line HCM platform into modern microservices and is seeking two Engineering Managers to support this initiative. Each role will lead and support a team of senior, principal-level engineers, focusing on removing obstacles, maintaining delivery momentum, and fostering growth. This position blends people leadership, program coordination, and hands-on contribution, working closely with domain teams and reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering. Core Job Duties - Lead, coach, and retain a high-performing team of ~10 principal and senior engineers in a remote environment. - Conduct regular 1:1s, deliver clear and actionable feedback, and drive individual development and career progression. - Own team engagement and performance by proactively identifying and addressing burnout risks, team dynamics, and organizational health. - Partner with senior leadership on hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and team composition. - Maintain visibility into delivery across multiple teams, including dependencies, risks, blockers, and sequencing. - Act as a coordination point across teams, escalating issues early to minimize program-level impact. - Ensure alignment to engineering standards and best practices, including architecture, AI development practices, Terraform IaC, and event governance. - Facilitate team rituals and drive operational excellence by ensuring teams have the tools, clarity, and support needed to succeed. - Contribute hands-on as needed through code reviews, technical guidance, tooling improvements, documentation, or targeted implementation support. - Stay closely connected to day-to-day engineering work to provide informed insights and enable effective decision-making with senior leadership. Qualifications - 5+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in an engineering management role. - Proven experience managing senior and principal-level engineers, with the ability to enable high-performing teams through coaching and environment-setting rather than direct technical oversight. - Strong program coordination skills, with the ability to manage dependencies, balance competing priorities, and drive multiple workstreams simultaneously. - Sufficient technical depth to understand team deliverables, actively participate in technical discussions, and contribute hands-on when needed. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate complex technical concepts for both engineering teams and senior leadership. - Demonstrated success working in a remote, distributed environment with a high degree of autonomy. The Senior Manager, Test and Validation Engineering will lead the Software Test Engineering (formerly QA) organization responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of the SPM product portfolio.
