Position Overview The Florida Institute of Technology seeks a Women’s Business Center (WBC) Program Director to lead and manage the SBA-funded Women’s Business Center housed within the Florida Tech Bisk College of Business in Melbourne, Florida. This is a full-time position primarily on-site, with flexibility for remote work. The role requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend hours to support client training and special events. The WBC Program Director serves as the Principal Investigator for the federal WBC grant and is responsible for program financial and operational oversight, compliance, sustainability planning, and high-quality service delivery to entrepreneurial clients. The position reports to the weVENTURE WBC Executive Director and works closely with Florida Tech’s Budget Office, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Grant Administration & Compliance - Administer the SBA federal grant in full compliance with the program announcement, Notice of Award (NOA), federal regulations, statutes, and applicable statutes. - Serve as Principal Investigator for the WBC federal grant. - Ensure timely, accurate submission of all required programmatic and financial reports to SBA OWBO. - Coordinate and support all SBA programmatic reviews, financial examinations, audits, and accreditation or certification processes. - Participate in required SBA activities, including webinars, conference calls, training sessions, surveys, and the Association of Women’s Business Centers (AWBC) annual conference. - Maintain responsiveness to SBA correspondence and ensure all OWBO communications are shared with appropriate weVENTURE and Florida Tech personnel. - Notify OWBO and the SBA District Office Technical Representative (DOTR) of any changes to WBC or host organization contact information. Financial Management & Reporting - Develop and administer budgets across weVENTURE programs and grants (federal and non-federal) - Oversee the WBC payroll and operating budget, including tracking expenditures and ensuring fiscal accountability, under the direction of the Executive Director. - Review, approve, and co-sign WBC-related expenditures, invoices, purchase requests, bank drafts, ledgers, reimbursement requests, effort certifications and match certifications, in coordination with OSP and the Executive Director. - Maintain accurate and complete financial records related to WBC expenditures and prepare semi-annual SBA Reports. Quarterly in HHS/PMS and Nexus Uploads, reviewed by OSP and the Executive Director prior to submission, per SBA requirements. - Lead response and engagement with SBA auditors (every 3 years), including the preparation and submission of required documentation. Program Oversight & Sustainability - Direct the overall implementation and continuous improvement of the WBC program to ensure achievement of grant deliverables. - Lead efforts focused on financial and operational sustainability of the WBC project. - Develop and implement internal policies and procedures aligned with federal requirements, university requirements and WBC best practices. - Ensure accurate collection, maintenance, and reporting of client data, programmatic outcomes, and other data as required for SBA compliance. Client Services & Program Delivery - Provide high-quality business coaching, counseling, technical assistance, and training to clients as needed to meet WBC deliverables, in coordination with other weVENTURE WBC staff and contractors. - Participate in and support program initiatives such as IGNITE 360 Pathways Business Launch Class and the Business Mentorship Program, including facilitating trainings or webinars as appropriate. - Participate in SBA surveys and studies evaluating program effectiveness, outcomes, curriculum, and service delivery methods. - Lead evaluation and process improvement activities as part of AWBC WBC Center of Excellence program and other WBC certifications as needed. Partnerships & External Relations - Coordinate with SBA and other local, regional, and federal resource partners to maximize impact and avoid duplication of services. - Collaborate with the SBA District Office and OWBO on goal-setting for the annual workplan. - Maintain strong working relationships with the SBA District Director, DOTR, and OWBO Program Manager throughout the award period. - Disseminate information on SBA programs, products, initiatives, and services to staff, partners, and clients. - Represent weVENTURE and the WBC at community events, partner meetings, and public functions as needed. Internal Collaboration & Staff Oversight - Oversee and support the work activities of full-time, part-time, and contract personnel assigned to the WBC, under the direction of the Executive Director. - Ensure proper documentation and compliance related to staff, contractors, volunteers, and all program financial activities. - Work closely with Florida Tech’s Office of Sponsored Programs to ensure seamless grant administration. - Work closely with Florida Tech’s Budget Office and Office of Advancement to ensure accurate financial management. Travel Requirements - Required travel to attend the annual WBC/AWBC conference and annual SBA training. - Occasional additional travel may be required within our service area - Space and Treasure Coasts. Education & Professional Qualifications Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. - Knowledge of entrepreneurship and new business development. - Experience supervising staff, evaluating performance, and managing work schedules. - Accounting experience required; grant management experience strongly preferred. - Experience with organizational budgeting, nonprofit accounting, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Preferred Qualifications - Prior business ownership or entrepreneurial experience. - Experience administering government or industry-funded contracts or grants. - Familiarity with federal contract and grant compliance requirements. - Experience with Workday Financial Systems. - Experience teaching or coaching in business or related fields. Annual Security & Fire Safety Report The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations. Florida Tech’s 2025 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities. The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information. Official Transcripts Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. Job Overview: Step into a leadership role where your expertise directly shapes the future of home insurance pricing. As Director – Home Rating Plan, you’ll lead a high-performing team of actuaries, analysts, and emerging data scientists to drive smarter, more innovative pricing strategies. In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end evaluation and evolution of the home rating plan, analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and translating insights into impactful recommendations that support profitable growth. You’ll play a critical role in advancing pricing initiatives, championing innovation, and guiding continuous improvement through research, iteration, and forward-thinking solutions. Responsibilities: - Oversee and guide the development of innovative pricing strategies for the home line of business. - Collaborate with data scientists, state management, and rating and implementation teams to develop and implement enhancements to the home rating plan - Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor pricing systems and strategies to aid in the development of new rating elements - Identify and work with third-party vendors to enhance data available for pricing accuracy. - Monitor impact of implemented initiatives to ensure accuracy of implementation and achievement of desired business outcomes. - Lead and motivate a team of actuaries, analysts and junior data scientists to accomplish company strategies and goals. - Present findings and recommendations to Actuarial and State Management leadership and other stakeholders. - Provide guidance and statistical support for rate filings associated with recommendations, including the incorporation of state restrictions into new features and supporting communication with Departments of Insurance to gain state approval. This role is open to full-time remote work, or hybrid onsite in our Lincoln, RI office. Our normal business hours are 8am – 5pm Eastern Time. This role does not currently offer employment visa sponsorship. The salary range for this position is $149,000-$229,000. All offers are based on both education and experience. This is a full-time position based on a 37.5 hour work week. In addition, hired applicants will be eligible for the company’s annual variable incentive paid based on company performance. Additionally, annual 3% non-elective employer contribution - Annual Success Sharing Plan - Paid to eligible employees if company meets or exceeds combined ratio, growth and/or service goals - Generous leave programs, including paid parental bonding leave - Student Loan Repayment and Tuition Reimbursement programs - Generous fitness and wellness reimbursement - Employee community involvement - Strong relationships, lifelong friendships - Opportunities for advancement in a successful and growing company Qualifications: - Credentialed Member of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS or FCAS) or Charted Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred - 7-10 years of progressive experience in property casualty personal lines insurance (Home preferred) pricing/product analytical areas. - Strong proficiency in actuarial software and tools. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. - Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to various stakeholders. - Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a team of actuaries and analysts. - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. - Experience with rating plan development, analysis, and implementation. - Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead large-scale projects and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
