Senior Cloud Platform Engineer
Nextech Systems
• The Senior Platform Engineer drives developer enablement through infrastructure automation, cloud platform optimization, standardized engineering workflows, strong security practices, and mentorship of junior engineers; as a result, improving the reliability, security, and scalability of Nextech products used by our customers. • Design, implement, and operate scalable, secure CI/CD workflows and deployment strategies that enable teams to deliver Nextech products to customers with greater speed, reliability, and confidence. • Lead the creation and maintenance of a robust Infrastructure as Code ecosystem that promotes consistency, reusability, ease of use, cost efficiency, and high engineering quality across the platform. • Embed security and compliance controls across cloud platforms, pipelines, networking, and infrastructure, partnering with engineering and security teams to ensure the secure delivery of customer‑facing products. • Lead the design and adoption of monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities to support proactive performance tuning, improve system visibility, and enhance reliability for customers. • Own platform stability through on call procedures and incident response, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous operational improvement to minimize customer impact and service disruption. • Design and support highly available, multi‑region architectures with strong resiliency, recoverability, and disaster recovery (DR) patterns to ensure uninterrupted customer access to Nextech products. • Develop automation for provisioning, configuration, patching, and performance optimization to improve efficiency, consistency, and operational excellence across environments. • Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers, modeling engineering best practices, and owning delivery quality across shared platform services. • Communicate technical decisions clearly to engineering teams and leadership, align platform initiatives with business priorities, and anticipate customer needs to deliver long‑term value.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years hands-on cloud technologies (IaaS/SaaS/PaaS)
- 3+ years Azure cloud experience
- 3+ years working with CI/CD tools (preferably Azure DevOps or Github Actions)
- 2+ years cloud networking (WAF, routing, vWAN, etc.)
- Scripting (PowerShell, Python, .NET)
- Terraform for IaC
- Configuration management (Ansible/Puppet/Chef)
- Strong Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) understanding
- TCP/IP and OSI fluency
- Certificate management
- Experience with infrastructure, network, and application security best practices
- Experience with APM (Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic)
- Proven experience in both Windows and Linux environments
- Agile experience
