Redis/Valkey Contributing Engineer
Percona
• responsible for the high-quality technical execution of Percona’s Redis/Valkey product and service capabilities • Deliver professional services/consulting engagements for strategic or complex projects • Contribute to software in Valkey and related/supporting open source projects • Identify ways to enhance, improve, or add to customers use of Redis or Valkey • Actively seek collaboration between organizations to build mutually beneficial open source projects • Acts as a technical escalation point for Global Services - takes ownership of complex/escalated Support tickets and owns them through to resolution • Supports and assists in the continual improvement of Percona’s quality of Support/Service delivery by participating in ticket reviews/spot checks to identify opportunities for improvement related to newly introduced Redis/Valkey ecosystem software • Provides feedback and guidance on Percona’s Valkey - and broader, where appropriate - software product strategy - contributing to functional specifications for product enhancements, changes, or new software products as applicable • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on corporate competitors • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments • Supporting the Percona Go To Market teams on strategic, Valkey related opportunities • Talking at strategically identified conferences throughout the year • Leads/Builds/Participates in a collaborative community of Redis/Valkey experts within Percona • Support the creation of technical content for the community and Percona subscribers to consume. Blogs, Whitepapers, KnowledgeBase articles, webinars, and conference talks are all media types that may be used • Your hours will be flexible between America and European timezone as required
Job Requirements
- 4-5 years experience as a contributor to Valkey/Redis or related technologies
- Developed high performance, distributed data-layer applications in C, Rust, or other systems programming languages
- Fluent written and spoken English communication skills
- Professional, customer service-oriented attitude
- Strong work ethic and entrepreneurial approach
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally under pressure
- Strong mentoring/coaching skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with Management at Customers/Partners in an escalation ownership and management capacity
- Prior technical support experience is a must have - including providing services to agreed SLA’s

• Own and define the full-vehicle loads and aeroelastic analysis strategy from clean-sheet development through production and flight test • Establish and govern aerodynamic and structural load envelopes, including maneuver, gust, landing, ground, and mission-driven load cases • Lead both quasi-static and dynamic loads analyses, including transient and coupled aeroelastic assessments • Serve as the technical authority for V-n diagrams, load factors, and structural load path definition across the aircraft • Define and review loads modeling approaches using NASTRAN, FEMAP, MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or equivalent environments • Drive aeroelastic stability evaluations including divergence, flutter, control reversal, and load alleviation strategies • Partner closely with Aero and GNC teams to ensure loads assumptions align with flight control laws, mission profiles, and aircraft performance objectives • Establish traceability standards across loads models, ICDs, FEA inputs, and certification artifacts • Define and oversee loads correlation strategy, including strain gauge placement, instrumentation planning, and in-flight data reconciliation • Review and approve loads deliverables for design reviews, compliance documentation, and executive technical decision forums • Mentor and technically guide loads and aeroelastic engineers across the organization • Develop and standardize loads methodologies, automation frameworks, and internal tools to scale capability across programs
• Manufacturing Engineering focal for assigned supplier base • Expected to own the technical performance of multiple suppliers so supplier travel will be frequent (25-50%) • Actively leads delivery problem solving while collaborating with external supplier teams and internal GE fulfillments, commercial, quality team members • Drives multiple delivery and producibility improvement projects • Guides and influences suppliers’ performance based on developing manufacturing expertise • Partners with commercial owners to ensure supplier selection provides desired value • Supports source changes as needed while problem solving and supporting suppliers
