Solutions Engineer – Pre-Sales

SpryPoint

• Own the technical side of the sales cycle - from discovery and requirements gathering through demo delivery, proposals, and RFP responses • Build and deliver tailored, configured product demonstrations that connect SpryPoint's capabilities to a utility's specific needs and pain points • Become a product expert across SpryPoint's full suite - SpryCIS, SpryEngage, SpryMobile, and more - and stay sharp on industry trends and emerging technologies • Design solutions that are practical, usable, and built around how utilities actually operate • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to prospective customers throughout the sales process - the person they turn to when they have hard questions • Partner closely with Account Executives across territories to move deals forward • Support technical proposals, system architecture documentation, and RFQ/RFP responses • Represent SpryPoint at field marketing events, conferences, our National Users Conference, and regional trade shows • Travel approximately 25% of the time (roughly once a month), with occasional peaks up to 50%

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience demoing and selling SaaS solutions to utilities in North America - you know this world
  • Deep knowledge of utility software, including Customer Information Systems (CIS), Customer Self-Service, Mobile Field Service, Work Orders, Asset Management, and CMMS
  • Familiarity with the broader utility software ecosystem - ERP, SCADA, OMS, AMI, MDM
  • A solid understanding of utility operations across electric, water, wastewater, gas, broadband, and sanitation
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills - you can walk a room of skeptical engineers and a C-suite exec through the same demo and land it both times
  • Strong active listening and discovery instincts - you ask the right questions before you start talking about solutions
  • A collaborative spirit and low-ego approach to working with sales, technical, and customer success teams
  • Comfort with travel and the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment
  • Demo2Win training or similar is a nice bonus, but a track record of winning deals matters more
