Role Description The Lighting Application Specialist is a person that has knowledge and proficiency in current commercial lighting systems, industry trends, lighting design, lighting controls and associated technologies. A Lighting Application Specialist will have the responsibility to audit and develop solutions that support cost-effective solutions for our customers, which include: - K-12 Schools - Universities - Hospitals - Municipalities - State Agencies - Federal Agencies Application of lighting includes both interior and exterior lighting solutions. The Lighting Application Specialist is a technical project developer within ESG’s lighting program that reports to and works closely with the Lighting Manager. Responsibilities include: - Understanding the technical needs and wants of a customer and turning that information into accurate concrete solutions. - Dealing with technical issues that include facility energy consumption analysis and reduction strategies, general capital improvements, and large-scale community lighting projects. - Responsible for technical strategies, costing of projects, provision of life cycle analysis of proposed systems, and assisting the delivery team to ensure smooth installations and achieve exceptional results for the customer. Estimated Time Allocation: Frequent travel (approximately 30%-60%), including overnight stays is required. The essential functions of the position include: - Ability to handle full project design responsibilities including, but not limited to: - Facility surveys of lighting and supporting electrical systems. - Evaluation of systems for possible improvements from a component, system, and controls level. - Design ideas based on aesthetics, safety, function, serviceability, and budget. - Provide material costing of designed improvements. - Provide life cycle analysis of improvements evaluating both energy and operational reductions. - Facilitate adequate communication among the internal team including any sub-contractors and customers by creating technical plans both written and schematic to convey solutions and risk. - Coordinate with installation teams to ensure proper design and intended performance of employed systems. - Be up to date with current lighting technologies and future trends. - Approve equipment before it is ordered to ensure accurate estimates and on-time delivery. - Familiar with Utility, State, and Federal lighting rebate programs. - Maintain high level of knowledge on IESNA, ASHRAE guidelines and Title 24. - Capable of generating and evaluating photometric layouts. - Provide training on the use of new systems to customers. Qualifications - Minimum of three (3) years related experience. - Bachelor’s degree. - In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, 10 years of related experience. - Preferred degrees in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or Business. - PE – (Professional Engineer License). - LEED Certification. - LC, CLEP, or CLMC – Certification. Role Description The Application Support team is accountable for installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining Sirva applications. As an Application Support Engineer, you will contribute to Sirva success by providing Tier 2 support for Sirva applications. This role will acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of Sirva applications to troubleshoot and resolve incidents within agreed service levels. The incumbent will identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead projects to improve application reliability and performance. The Application Support Engineer will provide coaching to other Application Support team members. - 50%: Provide Tier 2 support to Sirva applications and escalate to Tier 3 as required. - 20%: Identify, document and address root cause for application problems.
