Role Description The Lighting Application Specialist is a person that has knowledge and proficiency in current commercial lighting systems, industry trends, lighting design, lighting controls and associated technologies. A Lighting Application Specialist will have the responsibility to audit and develop solutions that support cost-effective solutions for our customers, which include: - K-12 Schools - Universities - Hospitals - Municipalities - State Agencies - Federal Agencies Application of lighting includes both interior and exterior lighting solutions. The Lighting Application Specialist is a technical project developer within ESG’s lighting program that reports to and works closely with the Lighting Manager. Responsibilities include: - Understanding the technical needs and wants of a customer and turning that information into accurate concrete solutions. - Dealing with technical issues that include facility energy consumption analysis and reduction strategies, general capital improvements, and large-scale community lighting projects. - Responsible for technical strategies, costing of projects, provision of life cycle analysis of proposed systems, and assisting the delivery team to ensure smooth installations and achieve exceptional results for the customer. Estimated Time Allocation: Frequent travel (approximately 30%-60%), including overnight stays is required. The essential functions of the position include: - Ability to handle full project design responsibilities including, but not limited to: - Facility surveys of lighting and supporting electrical systems. - Evaluation of systems for possible improvements from a component, system, and controls level. - Design ideas based on aesthetics, safety, function, serviceability, and budget. - Provide material costing of designed improvements. - Provide life cycle analysis of improvements evaluating both energy and operational reductions. - Facilitate adequate communication among the internal team including any sub-contractors and customers by creating technical plans both written and schematic to convey solutions and risk. - Coordinate with installation teams to ensure proper design and intended performance of employed systems. - Be up to date with current lighting technologies and future trends. - Approve equipment before it is ordered to ensure accurate estimates and on-time delivery. - Familiar with Utility, State, and Federal lighting rebate programs. - Maintain high level of knowledge on IESNA, ASHRAE guidelines and Title 24. - Capable of generating and evaluating photometric layouts. - Provide training on the use of new systems to customers. Qualifications - Minimum of three (3) years related experience. - Bachelor’s degree. - In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, 10 years of related experience. - Preferred degrees in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or Business. - PE – (Professional Engineer License). - LEED Certification. - LC, CLEP, or CLMC – Certification. Role Description ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Lead Project Coordinator to join our Energy Solutions team. The Project Coordinator must be a highly capable, detail-oriented individual. The coordinator plays a crucial role in determining the feasibility of lighting and solar photovoltaic PV projects. This individual must be self-motivated and able to work independently but must also possess the ability to effectively interface with many internal & external customers daily. This is a full-time salaried position reporting to the Director, Energy Solutions. - Project Estimation & Financial Analysis - Multi-Technology Estimating: Develop preliminary cost estimates for lighting retrofits, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and solar PV installations based on regional project requests. - Incentive Optimization: Identify, quantify, and track available utility rebates, state incentives, and federal tax credits to maximize project value. - Financial Modeling: Calculate initial project payback periods, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and overall ROI to support the business case for proposed energy solutions. - Proposal & RFP Support - RFP Response Development: Coordinate and support the drafting of formal RFP responses and project proposals, ensuring all technical requirements, vendor quotes, and compliance documentation are consolidated into professional, on-time submittals. - Customer Reporting: Create high-impact technical reports and sales presentations that translate complex energy data into clear, actionable insights for customers. - Project Intake & Lifecycle Management - Regional Intake Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for regional teams, managing the intake of new project requests and ensuring all required site data is collected for engineering review. - Deliverable Tracking: Take ownership of project reporting timelines, ensuring all deliverables—from initial audits to final proposals—are tracked and completed on schedule. - Process Documentation: Manage the documentation of internal processes and lead the resolution of project-specific administrative issues to ensure smooth transitions from development to construction. - Communication & Subject Matter Expertise - Cross-Functional Communication: Effectively communicate technical concepts and financial constraints to both internal stakeholders and external, non-technical customers. Role Description ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Senior Estimator to join our Public Sector Southwest team. This position can be remote. The ESG Southwest region has offices in Rockwall, TX, Albuquerque, NM, and Littleton, CO, and proximity to those offices is preferred. This position should expect to travel approximately 25% including overnight stays. The Senior Estimator is a leader who is experienced in all aspects of general construction, design-assist construction, and full design-build construction. The Senior Estimator is responsible for all aspects of pre-construction activities, including: - Preparing and communicating preliminary and final budget estimates, design cost estimates, design-development cost estimates, and guaranteed maximum price (GMP) proposals, inclusive of value engineering. - Defining the scope of work (SOW) by reviewing drawings and written SOW by internal and external engineers. - Managing the participation from subs to ensure coverage as well as qualifying the sub proposals for accuracy against the RFP SOW. - Creating and sending out RFPs through Procore to subs for bidding. - Managing relationships with designers, sub-contractors, vendors, and suppliers to organize pre-construction efforts for each project. - Attending on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits as required. - Negotiating and reviewing bids from sub-contractors, reviewing scopes of work, and analyzing costs as bids are received. - Developing and reviewing subcontractor scopes of work and accepting, reviewing, and analyzing subcontractor quotes for best value. - Overseeing the pre-construction phase and producing budget estimates from the pre-concept design stage to the construction document stage. - Developing and overseeing project schedules and workload priorities with pre-construction staff and organizing estimating schedules. - Supporting ESG Operations Group with preparing and pricing change orders on awarded work on an as-needed basis. The position will be virtual but needs to be located in Texas, the northeast, or California and must be near a major airport. Frequent travel of 50% to 75%, including overnight stays and weekend travel dependent on project(s) location is required. The Lighting Superintendent coordinates all aspects of project execution of the Lighting scope of work, ensuring a smooth transition from the design phase to the installation and ongoing service and support phase of the completed project. This includes, but is not limited to: - Advising and assisting the Lighting Project Manager in conferring with engineering personnel on technical information. - Procuring and managing outside contractors. - Training customers’ maintenance personnel. - Acting as primary point of contact for all internal personnel, external contractors, subcontractors, and customer agents to coordinate all aspects of project installation. - Ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and that customers are satisfied with both the installation process and the end result. The Lighting Superintendent must be able to communicate effectively with both ESG Project Manager and the customer. The Lighting Superintendent must have a working knowledge of lighting systems, the scope of work, and be able to troubleshoot lighting issues and report to the Lighting Engineer. The Lighting Superintendent will be the point person on site during installation and will be responsible for all the day-to-day operations in the field. The essential functions of the position include: - Monitors labor, materials, project modifications, and work completion and makes changes as necessary to ensure achievement of project objectives within cost and time constraints. - Oversees all aspects of installation, working with all parties involved to proactively prevent and solve quality issues and other problems that may arise in the course of the project. - Creates and maintains an efficient, effective project workforce, providing training and supervision for each member assigned to the project and coordinating team member activities to meet project objectives. - Responsible for ensuring adherence to all OSHA, Federal, State, and safety regulations as well as all company policies and procedures. - Keeps abreast of all changes in federal, state, and local safety regulations and company policies as they pertain to the project installation and implements system changes as required. ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for an Energy Engineer to join our Corporate Measurement and Verification Team. The position will be hybrid with regular travel (up to 75%) to the DC/VA metro area including overnight stays dependent on project(s) location. The Energy Engineer is responsible for the development of energy baselines, verifying energy saving and annual M&V reporting. The Energy Engineer will be knowledgeable in application of energy saving strategies, statistical analysis, and have prior experience working in vertical markets (Federal Government, State and Local Government, Healthcare, K-12 and Higher Education). The position requires strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities to address best practices in baseline development as well as performance period energy consumption evaluation. Proactively reviews and/or interprets problems or patterns related to utility bills and energy consumption to limit risk and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Owns and manages tools & processes that ensure timely collection and accurate data entry of utility bills or other monitored consumption sources for M&V portfolios. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical customers both internal and external. Understanding of Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) and International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) concept and guiding principles. Lead/support development of customer baselines or benchmarks as needed. Responsible for the creation of high quality / high value performance reports that convey added value and analysis of cost reduction to contract specifications and/or guarantees (Options A, B, C, D and Non-Measured Savings) to the client.
