Role Description The Community Engagement Manager will drive and coordinate community engagement efforts across major EdgeConneX developments, with a primary focus on North America. This role serves as a key connective tissue between local community stakeholders — including elected officials, school systems, and civic organizations — internal teams across the organization, partner organizations, and industry advocacy groups. The Community Engagement Manager will serve as a visible, trusted representative of EdgeConneX in local communities, building long-term relationships that support responsible data center development. In addition to community engagement leadership, this position provides support across marketing, communications, media relations, and internal communications workstreams. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing & Communications. While the position can be remote, there could be upwards of 30% travel associated with this role, mostly domestically within the U.S. Primary Responsibilities - Community Engagement Coordination - Drive and coordinate community engagement initiatives across EdgeConneX markets under development, focusing on North America. - Build and maintain trust-based relationships with local external stakeholders, including elected officials and civic leaders. - Coordinate with internal stakeholders across various teams to align community engagement activities with project timelines. - Manage relationships and coordinate activities with partner organizations and industry advocacy organizations. - Develop and execute market-specific community engagement plans for new EdgeConneX development markets. - Monitor community sentiment and emerging concerns in active or pending development projects. - Maintain a master community engagement tracker across all markets. - Track inbound partnership inquiries and outreach from nonprofits and community organizations. - Organize and maintain shared folders in SharePoint/Teams for community engagement workstreams. - Education & Workforce Development Liaison - Serve as an EdgeConneX liaison to K–12 schools in operational or developing markets. - Capture and share community and education engagement stories for communications and social media. - Media Monitoring & Intelligence - Organize media coverage and social listening leveraging existing media tools. - Maintain a media inquiry log and support press release distribution logistics. - Award Nominations & Industry Recognition - Research and maintain a calendar of relevant award opportunities. - Draft award nomination narratives and manage submission logistics. - Content Calendar & Communications Support - Assist with day-to-day maintenance of the EdgeConneX communications content calendar. - Support press release distribution logistics and track post-release coverage.
