Senior Data Science Engineer, Sports Modelling

DraftKings Inc.

• Develop models and data-driven solutions that enhance the Sportsbook experience for our users • Create statistical and machine learning models and integrate them into data science applications. • Collect and engineer sports data assets to assist in model development. • Implement the sports models and pricing engines in Python. • Create automatic tests to ensure model and pricing engine accuracy. • Test data flows and model integration in a larger business context. • Coach and support more junior data scientists within the team.

Job Requirements

  • A college degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field
  • Proficiency in Python, object-oriented programming concepts, NumPy methods and version control
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines to support code quality and reliability
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with the machine learning lifecycle (experimentation, reproducibility, deployment, monitoring, retraining)
  • Solid grasp of data science principles and statistical modeling techniques.
  • Demonstrated passion for sports and a strong understanding of relevant leagues and their dynamics
  • Self-motivation and eagerness to expand knowledge and understanding of Sportsbook products and related technologies.

We drive product and business strategy through measurement, experimentation, and causal inference to help Coursera deliver effective content discovery and personalized learning at scale. We’re looking for a knowledgeable Data Scientist - Product Analytics to support decision-making for our product teams. This role will be leveraging the rich data captured by over 200M+ learners and thousands of instructors engaging on the platform to deliver innovative, data-driven insights on how to create experiences that will better meet the needs and expectations of learners. This role will partner closely with Product Managers (PMs) who own parts of Coursera’s educator or learner experience. Our ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and dashboarding skills, familiarity with A/B testing, good product sense, and the ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations that drive innovative product development. - Develop an understanding of Coursera’s products, business, and learners to tie insights and analysis to actionable recommendations. - Analyze the results of A/B tests and conduct deep dives on our learner and product experiences. - Create dashboards and set up systems and tools for tracking product metrics. - Create leverage by enabling Product Managers to better self-serve data on their product area. - Present findings and recommendations to product teams and cross-functional partners in a clear and concise manner.
