Role Description As an Intake Attorney, you’ll evaluate new personal injury and workers’ compensation matters, provide clear initial guidance, and ensure qualified clients move smoothly from first conversation into case management. You’ll use strong legal judgment to assess viability, set expectations, and recommend the right path forward—quickly and accurately. This role is ideal if you like decisive work, client-facing conversations, and being accountable for both quality and conversion. Responsibilities - Lead initial consultations that build trust and clarity for prospective clients from the first call. - Assess personal injury and workers’ compensation claims for legal merit, risk, and fit against firm criteria. - Review intake notes, incident details, medical records, and supporting documents to determine case viability. - Provide practical, plain-language guidance on rights, expectations, timelines, and next steps. - Recommend initial case strategy and identify the most appropriate legal pathway early. - Partner with intake staff to ensure complete, accurate case information and a seamless client handoff. - Make timely accept/decline decisions and clearly document rationale in the case management system. - Drive follow-up that supports client retention and smooth onboarding without sacrificing quality. - Support the intake team in addressing common concerns and objections during the decision process. - Share insights on intake trends and process gaps to continuously improve quality and conversion. Qualifications - Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. - Active license to practice law (in good standing). - Strong knowledge of personal injury and/or workers’ compensation fundamentals. - Confident client-facing communication skills (you can explain complex topics simply and calmly). - Strong legal judgment and decision-making ability with comfort making accept/decline calls. - Organized, detail-oriented documentation habits in a case management system. - Ability to work efficiently with urgency while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Requirements - 1+ year of personal injury and/or workers’ compensation experience (Nice to Have). - Experience reviewing medical records and incident reports at intake (Nice to Have). - Comfort collaborating with Client Advocates, Case Managers, and Legal Assistants in a structured workflow (Nice to Have). - Familiarity with outcomes-based or accountability-driven operating environments (Nice to Have).
