Buyer (Missing Materials)

Role Description Symbotic is seeking a highly motivated Buyer to support critical material needs across our Supply Chain organization. This individual will bring a “think outside the box” mentality, strong analytical capability, and a passion for teamwork in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. What you’ll do: - Execute rapid-response purchasing activities to support urgent, unplanned material requirements from customer sites. - Manage critical material requests from intake through fulfillment, including purchase order creation, supplier coordination, and delivery tracking. - Act as a primary point of contact for site-driven escalations, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders. - Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to expedite materials while maintaining quality and compliance standards. - Leverage existing supplier relationships and agreements to accelerate lead times and resolve supply issues. - Partner with Service, Engineering, Planning, and Project teams to understand requirements, validate specifications, and prioritize critical needs. - Track and report on order status, risks, and delays, ensuring visibility across stakeholders and leadership. - Identify recurring demand patterns and supply risks; support mitigation actions to protect project schedules. - Drive process improvements to reduce response time, improve material availability, and enhance supplier performance. - Maintain accurate purchasing data and planning parameters within ERP/MRP systems. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. - Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain execution roles. - Experience supporting automation, material handling systems, service parts, or project-based environments preferred. - Demonstrated ability to execute under tight timelines and manage competing priorities. - Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred). - Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred. - Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. - Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities. Requirements - Up to 10% of travel may be required. - Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. - The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis. The base range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 - $97,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
