The focus of this role will be working with the robotic fleet of vehicles at each site, including: - Complex troubleshooting responsibilities - Complex repairs to the fleet of vehicles - Upgrades to the fleet of vehicles What you’ll do - Ensure that safety commitments in compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and our customers’ processes and procedures are met daily. - Perform inspections and upgrades on systems associated with Automated Storage and Retrieval System and Symbot Autonomous vehicle fleet. - Support continuous operation by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing, or modifying fleet system components. - Maintain advanced system knowledge of equipment, programs, and tools relating to the Symbot fleet and maintenance. - Perform advanced troubleshooting of the robotic vehicle fleet, identifying anomalies and stoppages using schematic and wiring diagrams as well as advanced test equipment. - Perform inspection and evaluation of delivered robotic fleet vehicles to sites, verifying equipment has met quality standards and has not suffered any damages through shipping and handling. - Perform periodic system inspections within expected durations on all equipment and thoroughly document all actions and repairs to include parts used and labor. - Ensure quality maintenance and complete documentation via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). - Effectively communicate production impacting problems and suggested actions, including approximate time required for corrective and emergency maintenance to required team members. - Communicate with on-site personnel and Control Center Operators on the commissioning of new robot fleet vehicles via system software and structure induction procedures. - Work in a dynamic environment and change course based on immediate business needs. - Responsible for cleanup of equipment and removal of replaced parts from work areas after repairs are completed while conforming to 5S policies. - Responsible for automated robotic vehicle recovery in the Symbotic Matrix select system, including working in restrictive environments. - Other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications - Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or equivalent field preferred. - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical automation systems. - Must be able to provide training and system expertise to team members on and off site. - High level of robotic troubleshooting (programming experience a plus) with strong electro-mechanical skills. - Proficient with different schematics and wiring diagrams; confident in electrical troubleshooting and repairs. - Ability to work independent of supervisor following procedures and manuals. - Ability to represent the Field Service Team in a remote site support role independent of supervisor. - Ability to lead a team and delegate daily functions and work beyond the scope of normal as operation calls. - Ability to multi-task and perform multiple job functions at once. - Must be literate, written and verbal, in English Language. - 100% travel required. What we do At Symbotic, the Production Control team manages project-based planning and material execution for complex, customer-specific automation systems. This group oversees material coordination, supply execution, and logistics alignment to ensure materials and equipment are available when and where needed to support installation and commissioning. Production Control works closely with other Supply Chain teams, including Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier partners, to align demand, supply, and execution across large-scale customer projects. What you’ll do - Coordinate domestic and international shipments to support project timelines and after-sales service requirements - Monitor shipments end-to-end, proactively identifying and mitigating delays, risks, and disruptions that could impact delivery - Partner with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation execution - Provide clear, timely shipment status updates and drive resolution of logistics-related issues impacting material flow - Prepare, review, and manage import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.) - Support compliance with trade regulations, Incoterms, and internal documentation standards - Maintain accurate shipment records and support logistics reporting, KPI tracking, and cost visibility initiatives - Support freight invoice reconciliation, Conduct damage investigations and manage insurance claims, and audit the Transportation Management System to identify and correct process deviations. - Contribute to process improvements, standard work development, and system enhancements across logistics operations - Support broader supply chain initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve What you’ll need - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience - Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, shipping, or import/export coordination, ideally within an industrial or project-based environment - Working knowledge of international shipping processes, customs documentation, and Incoterms - Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and shipment tracking tools (TMS) - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners - Spanish language proficiency is a plus Our Environment - Up to 10% of travel may be required.
