Job Description

Packaging Engineer

Western Digital

• Assist in packaging design and development activities under senior engineer supervision • Prepare and maintain packaging specifications, BOMs, and technical drawings • Support CAD modeling and packaging structure updates • Execute packaging tests per ISTA/ASTM protocols (drop, vibration, compression, climate) • Record, compile, and analyze test data; prepare test reports • Assist in packaging qualification documentation and ECO submissions • Support NPI packaging activities including sample preparation and testing • Assist in sustaining engineering tasks — ECOs, deviation requests, and change implementations • Coordinate with manufacturing teams on packaging-related issues • Assist in coordinating with packaging material suppliers for sample procurement • Support supplier qualification activities under senior engineer guidance • Ensure work is conducted in compliance with WD quality and safety standards • Assist in maintaining packaging documentation within WD QMS • Actively participate in training programs and technical workshops • Shadow senior engineers on complex projects to build technical competence • Take ownership of assigned tasks and deliver on time

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, or Packaging Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 0–2 years of working experience
  • Internship experience in packaging, manufacturing, or engineering environment is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals (materials, mechanics, manufacturing)
  • Familiarity with packaging concepts is a plus (not mandatory)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Final year project or internship related to packaging, product design, or manufacturing
  • Exposure to quality management systems (ISO, QMS)
  • Basic knowledge of ESD handling for electronics

Role Description Koniag Emerging Technologies, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Databricks Engineer with a Secret security clearance to support KET and our government customer in Washington, DC. This is a remote position. The Senior Databricks Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable data infrastructure while driving key data engineering initiatives. By leveraging the Databricks platform and deep expertise in modern data warehousing and the Medallion Architecture, the engineer will build data pipelines supporting the Department of State’s “4Ps” data lake. The ideal candidate will be able to support the following functions: - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, team members, and business owners to gather requirements, communicate progress, and ensure data meets customer needs. - Architecture & Design: Architect and implement scalable, highly available data pipelines using Databricks, adhering to the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to ensure data quality, consistency, and optimized reporting. - Data Quality Governance & Monitoring: Establish comprehensive data quality standards and implement monitoring dashboards to enable business owners and responsible parties to track and proactively address data issues. - Pipeline Development: Write clean, efficient, and production-ready code using PySpark and SQL for complex data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes.
