Campaign and Organizing Associate
Critical Mass
• Reporting to the Battlegrounds Director, the Battlegrounds Campaign and Organizing Associate will partner with local Indivisible groups across the assigned state to strengthen grassroots power and support local efforts. • This role focuses on training, coaching, and developing group leaders to build sustainable, effective teams to win elections and protect the results. • The organizer will manage relationships with leaders in their state, providing critical capacity and support for both local campaigns and Indivisible’s national priorities. • A successful candidate will be able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks, especially during rapid response times when goals may shift, and keep calm in a fast-paced environment. • Work with Indivisible regional or statewide Organizers to support local groups and manage relationships with local Indivisible leaders. • Coordinate bulk product requests with group leaders for campaign materials, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate follow-up. • Support Group Leaders for in-state electoral needs, including sharing regular programmatic updates, public campaign information, and supporting event creation and providing logistical support. • Help plan and manage in-state/in-district events with local groups and Indivisible activists. • Serve as a primary point of contact for group leaders in the assigned state, responding promptly to emails, outreach, and support requests. • Build new organizing skills and strengthen leadership pipelines. • Execute calls-to-action (CTAs) that drive meaningful political impact. • Work with groups to expand strategic, geographically-targeted volunteer capacity for voter engagement and election protection. • Work with the Indivisible Mobilization team to identify in-turf mobilization opportunities and execute on them. • Track election protection threats in assigned state and work with local groups, Battlegrounds, Political, and Mobilization Department leadership to assess interventions. • Oversee the implementation of Neighbor-to-Neighbor canvassing across the assigned state. • Effectively use Indivisible’s digital tools (EveryAction, Mobilize, etc.) to recruit volunteers, plan events, and grow their base. • Professionally represent Indivisible on local tables/coalitions and report back key findings to the Battlegrounds Director.
Job Requirements
- Familiarity with political dynamics and priority elections in the assigned state.
- Familiarity with core Indivisible organizing tools such as EveryAction, Mobilize, and other digital platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with group leaders and volunteers.
- Thorough knowledge of the electoral and legislative processes, procedures, and organization of the House and Senate; At least 1 cycle of experience in electoral organizing.
- Email deliverability knowledge or expertise.
- Understanding of race, gender, sexuality, and other aspects of identity, and their intersections, and how that plays out in the work.
- Demonstrates self-awareness of their own multiple group identities and their attendant dynamics, and can adapt their approach as needed.
- Ability to build strong relationships and trust across race, gender, class, and other group identities, both internally and externally.
- An exceptional team player; exemplifies a work style that is flexible, respectful, collaborative, and nimble.
- Direct experience as an Indivisible local group leader (or equivalent grassroots leadership experience).
