• Analyze and develop requirements for payroll processing • Design and create detailed requirement specifications, prioritize requirements, and own the product backlog • Collaborate closely with our clients and conduct/participate in workshops to ensure a thorough understanding and incorporation of client needs • Maintain content in our systems; analyze and update changes in collective agreements/tariff regulations • Support subject-matter quality assurance • Work with agile methodologies, e.g., Scrum, Design Thinking, and Personas
Job Requirements
- Relevant training or professional experience (minimum 3 years) in payroll processing in previous roles
- Knowledge of collective bargaining/tariff agreements (preferably in the public sector context, e.g., TVöD, TV-L, AVR)
- Interest in and aptitude for analytical work
- Basic IT understanding and an affinity for technology
- Enjoy collaborating with a team to develop solutions
- Methodical and independent working style
- Very good German language skills (C1+)

Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Payroll Consultant with strong expertise in Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll modules. The ideal candidate will support end-to-end implementation, configuration, and optimization of Workday HCM solutions, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliant time and absence management. Location: Remote Duration: 7 months Primary Responsibilities: - Lead configuration and implementation of Workday Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll modules - Conduct requirements-gathering workshops with business and HR stakeholders - Design and configure payroll structures, absence plans, and time tracking rules - Support full-cycle payroll processing including validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution - Lead testing activities (SIT/UAT) and support defect remediation - Deliver end-user training and provide post-go-live support - Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and organizational policies - Collaborate with technical and functional teams to ensure seamless integrations Qualifications - Workday Payroll certification required - 5+ years of Workday Payroll consulting experience - Strong expertise in Workday Absence and Time Tracking modules - Deep understanding of global payroll and compliance requirements - Experience with end-to-end Workday implementations - Strong workshop facilitation and client-facing communication skills - Proven ability in troubleshooting, testing, and production support Requirements - 5+ years of hands-on Workday consulting experience focused on Payroll - Experience with large-scale HCM implementations and post-go-live support Education - Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. • Serve as a key administrator for time tracking systems, preserving global workforce data integrity. • Audit employee time entries for accuracy and completeness. • Resolve timecard discrepancies and pending manager approvals. • Support global payroll cycles by validating time data before processing. • Ensure correct employee compensation based on total hours worked and overtime rules. • Learn and support specific time tracking and pay rules for multiple regions. • Act as the face of time and attendance for staff, supporting new hires and training managers. • Identify bottlenecks and improve time tracking workflows with Payroll and HR teams. • Prepare comprehensive reports on overtime trends and attendance patterns. • Assist in audits and internal reviews to ensure records remain "audit-ready."
