• Development and implementation of scalable, secure system architectures, as well as provisioning and maintenance of the physical infrastructure (underlay) for operating the OpenStack components • Design and implementation of automation frameworks for bare-metal operations, including release management and CI/CD pipelines • Operation, monitoring and continuous performance optimization of complex infrastructures using our observability stack (Grafana, Prometheus) • Independent incident management, including root-cause analysis, performance tuning and 3rd-level support for critical internal systems • Management of small projects and technical consulting of internal stakeholders in the implementation of specific architectural requirements • Ensuring system reliability through proactive lifecycle management and the integration of common IT security standards (hardening) in close coordination with the Security team
Job Requirements
- Relevant professional experience in system engineering or administration of large, complex IT infrastructures, and a completed IT apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Deep expertise in operating Linux distributions (preferably Debian), and preferably an understanding of virtualization technologies and network services (such as DNS)
- Good scripting skills (Bash, Python) and extensive hands-on experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Consul)
- Practical experience with modern CI/CD workflows (GitLab), GitOps, monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus), and ideally relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Basic understanding of IT security standards and compliance (ISO 27001, BSI, C5)
- Very good English skills
