Position Summary We’re looking for a Systems Engineer II interested in building and operating infrastructure for delivering great software and high performance hardware appliances. Key Responsibilities - Install, maintain, and manage hardware and networking infrastructure for the software engineering team. - Validate and research future hardware product decisions. - Work closely with software, quality, and release engineers to ensure software is built, tested, and deployed correctly and consistently. - Manage all engineering code repositories, including branching, backup, access and creation. - Ensure 24x7 availability and responsiveness of services and infrastructure - including networking infrastructure, cloud environments, security tools, web applications, and third party tools. - Participate in on-call rotation - Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications - Experience building, upgrading troubleshooting servers and hardware components. - 1+ years of experience with enterprise network interconnect. - 2+ years experience with Linux operating systems and enterprise server hardware. - Experience with one or more virtualization infrastructures, e.g. VMware, KVM. - Knowledge of networking and application protocols - e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, LDAP, TLS/SSL. - Direct experience with Git version control systems and hosting platforms (GitLab, GitHub). - Exposure to infrastructure and configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. - Security-oriented mindset in all operational matters. - Require on-premise work 4 days each week at our Corporate office in Seattle. - Must be able to safely lift and transport materials or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds as part of routine job duties. - This role requires the ability to regularly travel between our headquarters and our datacenter located in Kent, WA. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. - Please note that datacenter locations may change in the future, including potential expansion to additional sites either within Washington or in other states. Continued flexibility to support future travel needs will be essential. Preferred Qualifications - 1+ years of experience in a datacenter or colocation facility. - Certifications: A+, Security +, CCNA, etc. - Scripting skills on Unix/Linux platforms; Python and bash preferred. - History of working with CI/CD build pipelines. - Cloud virtualization platform experience, such as AWS EC2/EKS, Azure, or GCE/GKE. - Practical knowledge of building and using containers - e.g., Docker, containers. - Experience working with container orchestration such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm. - Experience building, upgrading troubleshooting servers and hardware components. The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000 + bonus + benefits.
